Job Description

NVIDIA is hiring Formal Verification Engineers (New College Graduates) to join its world-class Hardware Engineering team in Bengaluru and Gurugram. This is an outstanding opportunity for fresh B.Tech and M.Tech graduates who are passionate about digital design verification, semiconductor engineering, VLSI, and advanced hardware technologies. As a Formal Verification Engineer, you will work on validating complex digital designs, Intellectual Property (IP) blocks, and System-on-Chip (SoC) architectures that power NVIDIA’s industry-leading GPUs, AI accelerators, autonomous vehicles, robotics platforms, gaming processors, and high-performance computing solutions. The role offers exposure to cutting-edge verification methodologies while working alongside some of the brightest hardware engineers in the semiconductor industry.

As part of the verification team, you will learn and apply state-of-the-art formal verification techniques to ensure the correctness, reliability, and functionality of next-generation hardware designs. Your responsibilities will include developing comprehensive verification plans, creating formal verification environments, writing assertions, analyzing RTL behavior, identifying design issues, and collaborating closely with design engineers to resolve bugs before silicon implementation. The role emphasizes strong analytical thinking, debugging expertise, and a deep understanding of digital logic, enabling engineers to contribute to the successful delivery of highly complex semiconductor products used across artificial intelligence, cloud computing, gaming, automotive systems, and data centers.

Roles & Responsibilities

  1. Apply industry-leading formal verification methodologies to validate complex digital designs, IP blocks, and System-on-Chip (SoC) architectures with high accuracy and efficiency.
  2. Develop detailed verification plans by understanding design specifications, functional requirements, and verification objectives for assigned hardware modules.
  3. Build formal verification environments using industry-standard tools, assertions, and verification techniques to ensure complete functional coverage.
  4. Analyze RTL designs written in Verilog and SystemVerilog to understand hardware functionality and identify potential design issues.
  5. Write, debug, and maintain temporal logic assertions that validate hardware behavior under different operating conditions and design scenarios.
  6. Collaborate closely with RTL designers, architects, and verification engineers to identify root causes of functional bugs and support timely issue resolution.
  7. Execute verification activities independently while tracking verification progress, coverage metrics, and design closure milestones.
  8. Participate in design reviews, verification planning meetings, and technical discussions to improve verification quality and overall product reliability.
  9. Investigate verification failures, debug complex hardware issues, and recommend effective corrective actions based on detailed analysis.
  10. Maintain comprehensive documentation of verification plans, test results, coverage reports, bug analysis, and design validation activities.
  11. Continuously learn emerging verification methodologies, semiconductor technologies, and industry best practices to enhance technical expertise.
  12. Contribute to the successful delivery of high-performance GPU, AI, automotive, and computing products by ensuring the highest standards of hardware quality.

Requirements & Eligibility

  1. Bachelor's or Master's degree (B.Tech/M.Tech) in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics & Communication Engineering, VLSI, or a related discipline from a recognized university.
  2. Strong understanding of digital electronics, digital logic design, computer architecture, finite state machines, and hardware design fundamentals.
  3. Hands-on academic or project experience with Hardware Description Languages (HDLs) such as Verilog and SystemVerilog.
  4. Good knowledge of Register Transfer Level (RTL) design concepts with the ability to quickly understand and analyze hardware implementations.
  5. Understanding of formal verification methodologies, abstraction techniques, model checking, equivalence checking, and hardware verification concepts.
  6. Familiarity with temporal logic assertions, assertion-based verification, and verification planning techniques is highly desirable.
  7. Excellent analytical thinking, logical reasoning, debugging capabilities, and problem-solving skills for resolving complex hardware design challenges.
  8. Strong programming fundamentals and familiarity with scripting languages such as Python, Perl, TCL, or Shell scripting will be an added advantage.
  9. Good communication, teamwork, and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional engineering environments.
  10. Passion for semiconductor technology, VLSI design, artificial intelligence hardware, GPU architecture, and continuous learning in advanced computing technologies.

Expected Salary
