Interns will work alongside experienced software engineers, data engineers, cloud architects, and AI specialists while contributing to real-world business projects that leverage cutting-edge technologies. The program provides structured learning, hands-on technical exposure, and professional mentorship to help fresh graduates develop industry-ready software engineering skills.

As an Apprentice Intern, you will gain practical experience in designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software applications while working with cloud platforms, databases, analytics pipelines, and AI-powered solutions. You will contribute to software programming tasks, assist in building scalable data processing pipelines, support machine learning initiatives, and collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams throughout the software development lifecycle. The role emphasizes continuous learning through Agile development practices, code reviews, technical documentation, and exposure to modern programming frameworks. This internship enables candidates to build strong technical expertise while preparing for long-term careers in software engineering, cloud technologies, data engineering, and artificial intelligence.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications using modern programming languages while following software engineering best practices and coding standards.
• Assist in developing data ingestion, transformation, validation, and processing pipelines that support business intelligence, analytics, and machine learning initiatives.
• Collaborate with software engineers, cloud architects, data engineers, and AI specialists to deliver end-to-end technology solutions for enterprise applications.
• Work with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform to deploy, monitor, and manage scalable cloud-based applications.
• Support the development, training, testing, and deployment of artificial intelligence and machine learning models for various business use cases.
• Participate in Agile software development activities including sprint planning, daily stand-up meetings, code reviews, testing, documentation, and continuous integration practices.
• Develop and optimize SQL queries while working with relational and NoSQL databases to support application functionality and data-driven business processes.
• Create technical documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), project reports, and implementation documents to ensure knowledge sharing and process consistency.
• Continuously explore emerging technologies, programming frameworks, AI tools, cloud services, and software development methodologies to enhance technical capabilities.
• Contribute innovative ideas, identify improvement opportunities, solve technical challenges, and maintain high-quality deliverables while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.

Requirements & Eligibility

• Candidates must have completed BSc (Information Technology, Computer Science, or Mathematics) or BCA with mandatory programming knowledge from a recognized institution.
• Only candidates graduating in 2026 with a minimum of 60% overall academic performance are eligible to apply for this internship opportunity.
• Applicants must have no active standing backlogs at the time of application and should have consistently demonstrated good academic performance.
• Strong understanding of programming fundamentals including data structures, algorithms, object-oriented programming (OOP), and problem-solving concepts.
• Good programming knowledge in one or more technologies such as Python, Java, C++, HTML, CSS, Angular, or ReactJS, with the willingness to learn additional frameworks.
• Basic understanding of SQL, relational databases, NoSQL databases, and database management concepts required for software and data engineering projects.
• Familiarity with cloud computing fundamentals including AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, along with basic knowledge of compute, storage, networking, and identity management concepts.
• Exposure to data processing tools such as Pandas, NumPy, Spark, or basic understanding of AI/ML frameworks including TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn will be considered an added advantage.
• Excellent analytical thinking, logical reasoning, written and verbal communication skills, documentation abilities, and the capability to work effectively both independently and within collaborative teams.
• Candidates should be flexible to work from Pune, Noida, or Hyderabad, be willing to work in rotational shifts if required, adapt to different technologies, and demonstrate a strong eagerness to learn and grow professionally.

Expected Salary

Selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend of ₹18,000 throughout the apprenticeship period, as specified by Birlasoft. In addition to the stipend, interns gain hands-on industry experience, structured mentorship, exposure to enterprise software projects, and the opportunity to enroll in Birlasoft's three-year Academic Elevation (MCA) Program after successfully completing the apprenticeship, subject to applicable terms and conditions.
