As a Software Development Engineer, you will collaborate with AMD's architecture, hardware, and software teams to design, develop, optimize, and validate software solutions that maximize hardware efficiency and application performance. Your work will involve analyzing complex software workloads, implementing high-performance algorithms, optimizing applications for modern processor architectures, participating in new ASIC and hardware bring-up activities, and resolving challenging technical issues. Roles & Responsibilities

• Design, develop, enhance, and optimize high-performance software solutions that improve the efficiency, scalability, and performance of AMD's next-generation processors and computing platforms.
• Collaborate closely with architecture, hardware, firmware, and software engineering teams to develop innovative technologies that support AI, gaming, cloud computing, embedded systems, and enterprise applications.
• Analyze software workloads, benchmark applications, and performance metrics to identify optimization opportunities that improve processor utilization and application responsiveness.
• Participate in the bring-up, validation, debugging, and performance tuning of new ASICs, hardware platforms, and system software during product development cycles.
• Develop clean, efficient, maintainable, and high-quality code using C/C++ while following software engineering best practices, coding standards, and performance optimization techniques.
• Debug complex software issues, investigate root causes, implement effective solutions, and explore alternative approaches that improve software quality and execution efficiency.
• Utilize debugging tools, profilers, source code management systems such as Git, and performance analysis utilities to support software development and optimization activities.
• Stay updated with emerging trends in processor architecture, parallel computing, multithreading, operating systems, compiler technologies, and advanced software engineering methodologies.
• Build strong technical relationships with internal engineering teams, technology partners, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure successful project execution and knowledge sharing.
• Contribute to continuous innovation by researching new algorithms, evaluating modern software technologies, and recommending improvements that enhance AMD's competitive technology portfolio.

Requirements & Eligibility

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent technical discipline from a recognized university.
• Strong programming expertise in C/C++ with an in-depth understanding of object-oriented programming principles, software design, memory management, and performance optimization.
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, computer architecture, multithreading, concurrent programming, and systems-level software development.
• Experience working with Windows, Linux, or Android operating systems, including software development, debugging, and system-level programming concepts.
• Familiarity with software development tools such as debuggers, profilers, version control systems (Git/GitHub), build systems, and software development workflows.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities with experience diagnosing complex software performance issues and implementing optimized technical solutions.
• Knowledge of processor architecture, compiler behavior, parallel computing, hardware-software interaction, or performance engineering is considered a significant advantage.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary engineering teams in a fast-paced technology environment.
• Demonstrated leadership qualities, ownership mindset, attention to detail, and the ability to drive complex engineering problems toward successful resolution.
