In this role, you will be responsible for testing Emerson's Ovation Distributed Control System (DCS) applications and ensuring that software products meet the highest quality standards before deployment. You will execute functional and system-level testing, identify and report software defects, enhance testing procedures, and participate in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of testing environments. The role also involves working closely with product development teams to validate new features, improve product reliability, and contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives. By utilizing programming languages such as C, C++, C#, scripting languages including Python, PowerShell, and Batch scripting, along with networking and virtualization concepts, you will help deliver reliable industrial automation solutions to customers worldwide.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform functional, integration, regression, and system testing of Ovation Distributed Control System (DCS) applications to ensure software quality, stability, and compliance with product requirements.
- Execute software testing activities by following established testing methodologies, documenting test cases, recording results, and verifying application functionality across multiple testing scenarios.
- Identify, analyze, document, and report software defects while collaborating closely with development teams to ensure timely bug resolution and product improvements.
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot testing environments, virtual machines, networking components, and software systems required for product validation.
- Enhance existing test procedures, automate repetitive testing activities where applicable, and recommend improvements that increase testing efficiency and product reliability.
- Coordinate with software developers, product engineers, and cross-functional teams to validate new features, verify bug fixes, and support continuous product enhancement initiatives.
- Utilize programming languages such as C, C++, C#, along with scripting tools including Python, PowerShell, Batch files, and VB scripts to support testing and automation activities.
- Monitor product quality throughout the software development lifecycle while ensuring testing activities are completed within project timelines and quality standards.
- Continuously upgrade technical knowledge by learning emerging technologies related to industrial automation, distributed control systems, virtualization, networking, and software testing.
- Maintain accurate documentation of test cases, defects, testing procedures, system configurations, and project activities while following organizational quality and compliance standards.
Requirements & Eligibility
- Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Power Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline from a recognized university.
- Strong understanding of Distributed Control Systems (DCS), SCADA applications, industrial automation concepts, or process control systems through academic learning, projects, or internships.
- Basic knowledge of software testing methodologies, Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC), defect management, test execution, and quality assurance principles.
- Familiarity with programming languages including C, C++, C#, and scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, Batch scripting, or Visual Basic scripting.
- Understanding of networking fundamentals, communication protocols, virtualization concepts, computer system architecture, and Windows operating systems.
- Ability to install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain software testing environments while supporting system validation and quality assurance activities.
- Strong analytical thinking, logical reasoning, debugging capabilities, and problem-solving skills for identifying software defects and improving application quality.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with engineering teams and communicate technical findings clearly.
- Ability to work efficiently in collaborative team environments while demonstrating adaptability, eagerness to learn, creativity, and a proactive approach toward solving technical challenges.
