As an RF Software Engineer, you will design, develop, optimize, validate, and maintain embedded software components that enable high-performance Modem-RF transceivers and communication systems. Your responsibilities will include developing device drivers, implementing RF algorithms, debugging embedded software, analyzing modem performance, and collaborating with RF hardware, ASIC, modem, and systems engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle. You will work with cutting-edge embedded real-time operating systems (RTOS), communication protocols, RF front-end technologies, and software validation frameworks while ensuring optimal system performance, reliability, and scalability. Roles & Responsibilities
- Design, develop, implement, and maintain embedded software modules and device drivers for Qualcomm's advanced Modem-RF wireless chipsets while ensuring high performance and system reliability.
- Collaborate closely with RF hardware engineers, modem development teams, ASIC designers, system architects, and validation engineers to develop integrated software solutions for wireless communication products.
- Develop and optimize RF transceiver algorithms, modem software components, and antenna interface modules that enhance wireless communication performance, factory yield, and RF testability.
- Perform software debugging, root cause analysis, performance optimization, and issue resolution for embedded systems operating on real-time operating systems (RTOS).
- Validate software functionality by conducting integration testing, system verification, debugging activities, and performance analysis throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Work with wireless communication technologies including LTE, 5G NR, and future radio access technologies while supporting the implementation of new communication features.
- Analyze modem behavior, RF performance, communication protocols, and embedded software interactions to identify opportunities for performance improvements and system optimization.
- Utilize RF laboratory equipment such as spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, protocol analyzers, and RF test platforms to support software validation and hardware integration activities.
- Participate in software design discussions, technical reviews, documentation, and collaborative engineering activities while following Qualcomm's software engineering standards and best practices.
- Continuously learn emerging wireless technologies, embedded software techniques, communication standards, and semiconductor innovations to contribute effectively to future product development initiatives.
Requirements & Eligibility
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or an equivalent engineering discipline is required.
- Candidates with 0–1 year of experience, including fresh graduates with strong academic backgrounds, internships, or embedded systems projects, are encouraged to apply.
- Strong programming skills in C and/or C++ are essential for developing embedded software, implementing device drivers, debugging applications, and optimizing communication systems.
- Good understanding of software engineering principles including data structures, algorithms, modular programming, debugging techniques, software lifecycle, and version control practices.
- Solid knowledge of digital communication systems, wireless communication fundamentals, RF theory, modulation techniques, signal processing, and communication protocols is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with embedded systems, microcontrollers, embedded real-time operating systems (RTOS), and low-level software development will be considered a significant advantage.
- Basic understanding of wireless technologies such as LTE, 5G NR, GSM, WCDMA, or other radio access technologies is preferred for modem software development.
- Knowledge of modem architecture, RF transceivers, communication device drivers, RF front-end components, and radio system design will strengthen your profile.
- Exposure to RF laboratory equipment including spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, protocol test equipment, vector signal analyzers, or communication testing tools is advantageous.
- Excellent analytical thinking, debugging skills, communication abilities, teamwork, adaptability, and a strong passion for wireless communication technologies are essential for success in this role.
Expected Salary
