Roles & Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement advanced machine learning algorithms that improve the performance, scalability, and intelligence of Amazon's AI-powered products and services across multiple business domains.
- Conduct research in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Automatic Speech Recognition, Computer Vision, and related fields to develop innovative solutions for complex business challenges.
- Build, train, evaluate, and optimize deep learning models using large-scale datasets while improving model accuracy, inference speed, robustness, and production performance.
- Collaborate with software development engineers, research scientists, data engineers, and product managers to translate research ideas into scalable, production-ready AI solutions.
- Analyze structured, unstructured, speech, image, and text data to extract meaningful insights and develop intelligent systems capable of solving real-world customer problems.
- Perform extensive experimentation, model evaluation, feature engineering, hyperparameter tuning, and performance benchmarking to continuously improve machine learning models.
- Develop scalable AI systems capable of handling millions of customer interactions while ensuring high availability, reliability, security, and operational efficiency.
- Stay updated with emerging research papers, industry trends, academic publications, and breakthrough developments in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to drive continuous innovation.
- Document research findings, technical designs, experimental results, and implementation methodologies while contributing to internal knowledge sharing and engineering best practices.
- Work closely with cross-functional global teams to deploy machine learning models into production, monitor their effectiveness, troubleshoot issues, and continuously enhance customer experiences.
Requirements & Eligibility
- A Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative discipline is preferred.
- Strong understanding of machine learning concepts, including supervised learning, unsupervised learning, reinforcement learning, deep learning, model training, inference pipelines, and evaluation methodologies.
- Hands-on experience in one or more AI domains such as Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing (NLP), Computer Vision (CV), Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR), Reinforcement Learning, or Large Language Models (LLMs).
- Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, Java, C++, Scala, or another language commonly used for developing machine learning applications.
- Good understanding of deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, MXNet, JAX, or similar platforms used for developing and deploying neural network models.
- Familiarity with distributed computing technologies including Apache Spark, Hadoop, distributed training environments, or large-scale cloud-based machine learning infrastructure is considered an advantage.
- Knowledge of data preprocessing, feature engineering, statistical analysis, optimization techniques, and model performance evaluation is highly desirable for building robust AI solutions.
- Candidates with research publications in internationally recognized conferences or journals such as NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, ACL, EMNLP, ICASSP, CVPR, or similar venues will receive additional preference.
- Excellent analytical thinking, mathematical reasoning, problem-solving ability, research aptitude, and communication skills are essential for collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering and research teams.
