Job Description

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) is hiring Tools & Automation Engineers to join its Engineering and Quality Assurance team in Bengaluru. As a Tools & Automation Engineer, you will contribute to designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software systems that improve engineering productivity and product quality. In this role, you will participate in the complete software development lifecycle, including coding, testing, debugging, troubleshooting, and software enhancement activities. The position provides valuable experience in software engineering fundamentals, DevOps practices, testing automation, cloud architectures, microservices, distributed systems, and software quality assurance. Roles & Responsibilities

  • Develop, enhance, and maintain software modules, automation tools, and engineering utilities by writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code that meets organizational quality standards.
  • Participate in software development activities including coding, debugging, troubleshooting, testing, and implementing software enhancements for enterprise-grade applications and automation platforms.
  • Execute established testing procedures, identify software defects, document issues, and collaborate with development teams to ensure timely resolution of bugs and performance bottlenecks.
  • Work closely with software engineers, quality assurance professionals, architects, and project teams to develop reliable, scalable, and cost-effective software solutions.
  • Contribute to software automation initiatives that improve engineering efficiency, streamline testing processes, and enhance product reliability across multiple technology platforms.
  • Develop a strong understanding of software architecture, system design principles, cloud technologies, networking components, and enterprise software development methodologies.
  • Support the implementation of automation frameworks, testing strategies, and software deployment practices that improve overall product quality and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with internal engineering teams and external development partners to ensure successful execution of software development projects and product releases.
  • Analyze technical issues, investigate root causes, and apply effective problem-solving techniques to resolve software-related challenges within defined timelines.
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation, code updates, testing records, and development reports while following software engineering best practices and organizational standards.
  • Continuously learn emerging technologies including DevOps, cloud computing, distributed systems, microservices, and automation tools to improve technical capabilities and contribute innovative solutions.
  • Participate actively in project discussions, code reviews, technical meetings, and knowledge-sharing sessions to support continuous improvement and engineering excellence.

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or an equivalent technical discipline from a recognized university.
  • Zero to two years of experience in software development, automation engineering, quality assurance, or related technical roles with a strong willingness to learn enterprise technologies.
  • Good understanding of software design principles, programming concepts, object-oriented programming, and software development lifecycle methodologies.
  • Familiarity with software development tools, programming languages, debugging techniques, testing procedures, and automation concepts will be advantageous.
  • Basic knowledge of cloud computing, DevOps practices, distributed systems, networking technologies, or microservices architecture is preferred.
  • Strong analytical thinking, logical reasoning, and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues efficiently and independently.
  • Understanding of software testing methodologies, quality assurance processes, bug tracking, and software validation techniques.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional engineering teams and communicate technical concepts clearly.
  • Willingness to continuously learn new technologies, adapt to evolving engineering environments, and contribute to innovation-driven software development initiatives.
  • Exposure to cloud architectures, testing automation, full-stack development, security-first design principles, user experience (UX), or solutions design through academic projects or internships will be considered an added advantage.
