As a Software Development Engineer I, you will contribute to the design, development, testing, and deployment of scalable software solutions that power CommerceIQ's AI platform. Working closely with senior engineers, architects, and cross-functional teams, you will participate in building highly available distributed systems capable of handling large-scale data processing and business-critical operations. The role requires strong programming expertise, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and a passion for creating high-quality software products. You will actively engage in code reviews, design discussions, debugging sessions, and feature development initiatives while following agile software development methodologies.

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable software features while ensuring high performance, reliability, and maintainability of applications.
2. Collaborate with senior engineers and architects to design distributed systems capable of supporting large-scale enterprise commerce operations.
3. Participate in the complete software development lifecycle, including requirement analysis, design, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
4. Build high-quality backend services and web applications using modern programming frameworks and software engineering best practices.
5. Write clean, efficient, reusable, and well-documented code that aligns with organizational coding standards and quality expectations.
6. Conduct unit testing, integration testing, debugging, and troubleshooting activities to ensure robust software performance.
7. Participate actively in code reviews by providing constructive feedback and maintaining high engineering standards across projects.
8. Collaborate with product managers, designers, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver business-critical product enhancements.
9. Contribute to design discussions, architecture reviews, bug bashes, and technical brainstorming sessions.
10. Monitor application performance and proactively identify opportunities for optimization, scalability improvements, and technical innovation.
11. Support production systems by investigating issues, implementing fixes, and ensuring uninterrupted platform availability.
12. Continuously learn new technologies, tools, and development methodologies to contribute effectively to evolving business needs.

Requirements & Eligibility

1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related technical field from a reputed institution.
2. One to three years of professional experience in software development, web application development, or server-side engineering.
3. Strong programming skills with excellent command over data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming concepts.
4. Experience in Java development with hands-on knowledge of Spring Boot and modern backend development frameworks.
5. Solid understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and scalable system architecture concepts.
6. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with the capability to solve complex technical challenges efficiently.
7. Experience building and maintaining web-based applications, APIs, and backend services in production environments.
8. Familiarity with distributed systems, microservices architecture, cloud platforms, and modern software development practices.
9. Ability to take ownership of features from design through deployment while maintaining high-quality standards.
10. Strong communication and collaboration skills for working effectively within agile and cross-functional teams.
11. Passion for building customer-centric products and delivering exceptional software experiences.
12. Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with emerging technologies and industry trends.

Expected Salary

The expected salary for a Software Development Engineer I at CommerceIQ in Bengaluru typically ranges between ₹12 LPA and ₹22 LPA, depending on technical expertise, coding proficiency, educational background, and prior software development experience. Candidates with strong problem-solving skills, expertise in Java and Spring Boot, and experience working on scalable backend systems may receive compensation packages at the higher end of the range, along with performance bonuses, stock options, and long-term career growth opportunities.
