In this role, candidates will design and implement Generative AI and Agentic AI solutions that support application migration, software debugging, cloud modernization, and operational automation. Engineers will work on complex enterprise systems, including mainframe-converted applications, and use AI-assisted tools to improve application reliability, scalability, and performance. The role also involves end-to-end participation in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including development, deployment, testing, monitoring, and operational support in AWS cloud environments. Professionals will gain exposure to modern cloud-native architectures, DevOps workflows, infrastructure optimization, and AI-enabled software engineering practices while collaborating with global engineering and operations teams.

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Design and develop Generative AI and Agentic AI solutions that support enterprise application modernization, cloud migration, and software lifecycle automation.
2. Develop, maintain, and enhance Java-based enterprise applications while working with legacy technologies such as C, C++, and .NET applications when required.
3. Use AI-assisted engineering techniques to debug, optimize, and stabilize mainframe-converted applications in cloud-based environments.
4. Participate in complete Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) activities including requirement analysis, coding, testing, deployment, monitoring, and production support.
5. Work on AWS cloud services to support application deployment, infrastructure management, scalability improvements, and cloud-native modernization initiatives.
6. Collaborate with CloudOps teams to manage cloud environments, improve application reliability, monitor system health, and resolve production incidents efficiently.
7. Contribute to FinOps activities by analyzing cloud resource utilization, identifying cost optimization opportunities, and improving cloud governance practices.
8. Develop automation scripts, deployment pipelines, and infrastructure solutions to improve software delivery speed, operational efficiency, and system stability.
9. Ensure enterprise applications meet performance, scalability, security, and compliance standards within cloud infrastructure environments.
10. Work closely with cross-functional engineering, DevOps, platform, and business teams to deliver high-quality software solutions aligned with organizational goals.
11. Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, troubleshooting sessions, and continuous improvement initiatives to maintain engineering excellence.
12. Research emerging AI, cloud, and automation technologies to identify opportunities for innovation and process enhancement within enterprise software systems.

Requirements & Eligibility

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline with strong programming fundamentals.
2. 1–6 years of professional experience in software development, cloud engineering, enterprise application development, or AI-enabled software solutions.
3. Hands-on experience in Java application development including backend services, enterprise applications, REST APIs, and object-oriented programming concepts.
4. Exposure to AWS cloud services such as EC2, Lambda, S3, CloudWatch, IAM, or cloud deployment environments used in enterprise applications.
5. Practical understanding of Generative AI concepts, AI-assisted development tools, code automation techniques, or AI-driven debugging workflows.
6. Familiarity with CloudOps practices including system monitoring, operational reliability, incident management, cloud environment maintenance, and production support.
7. Working knowledge of FinOps principles including cloud cost optimization, usage monitoring, budgeting awareness, and infrastructure efficiency management.
8. Understanding of SDLC methodologies, Agile development practices, CI/CD pipelines, software testing, deployment automation, and release management processes.
9. Exposure to C, C++, and/or .NET applications with the ability to understand, maintain, or modernize existing enterprise systems.
10. Knowledge of DevOps tools, infrastructure automation, cloud-native architectures, or AWS deployment frameworks will be considered an added advantage.
11. Experience with enterprise modernization projects, telecom systems, AI-assisted migration tools, or large-scale distributed systems is preferred.
12. Strong analytical thinking, communication abilities, troubleshooting skills, and problem-solving mindset with enthusiasm for innovation and continuous learning.

Expected Salary

The expected salary for a GenAI Engineer at Amdocs in Pune generally ranges between ₹8 LPA to ₹22 LPA depending on professional experience, technical expertise, cloud certifications, Generative AI exposure, and software development skills. Candidates with strong experience in AWS, Java development, cloud modernization, AI-assisted engineering, or DevOps practices may receive higher compensation packages.
