Job Description
KPMG India is looking for highly motivated and detail-oriented professionals to join its cybersecurity consulting team as an Analyst β Consulting Implementation. This role offers an exciting opportunity for fresh graduates and early-career professionals to build expertise in Security Operations Center (SOC) operations, cyber threat monitoring, incident response, threat hunting, and security analytics. As an Analyst in the Consulting Implementation team, you will work with industry-leading security tools and technologies including SIEM platforms such as Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk, RSA, and LogRhythm. The role involves analyzing security alerts, investigating suspicious activities, performing malware and phishing analysis, and supporting incident response processes. You will collaborate with cybersecurity professionals, SOC analysts, and client teams to identify threats, improve detection capabilities, and strengthen security operations. Additionally, you will participate in quality assurance activities, process reviews, root cause analysis, and operational improvements that help enhance overall cybersecurity effectiveness and service quality.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Monitor, analyze, and investigate security alerts generated through SIEM platforms to identify potential cyber threats and security incidents.
- Perform threat detection, threat hunting, and security event analysis using network logs, user behavior analytics, and threat intelligence sources.
- Analyze phishing emails, malware alerts, suspicious activities, and other security incidents while following established investigation procedures.
- Support incident triage, classification, prioritization, and assignment processes to ensure timely incident response and resolution.
- Follow predefined incident response playbooks and standard operating procedures during cybersecurity investigations.
- Review and interpret security logs including HTTP, SMTP, authentication, system, and network logs to identify indicators of compromise.
- Conduct quality assessments of SOC operations and evaluate adherence to established security monitoring processes and controls.
- Track process deviations, document findings, and collaborate with stakeholders to implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Perform root cause analysis on recurring operational issues and recommend improvements to enhance SOC effectiveness and efficiency.
- Generate reports, dashboards, trends, and analytical summaries to support management decision-making and performance monitoring.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity teams, consultants, and clients to improve security monitoring capabilities and detection coverage.
- Support critical cyber incident investigations by ensuring quality standards, documentation accuracy, and adherence to response procedures.
Requirements & Eligibility
- Bachelorβs degree or postgraduate qualification in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or any related discipline.
- Zero to two years of relevant experience in cybersecurity, security operations, threat monitoring, information security, or IT support environments.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals, threat landscapes, security monitoring concepts, and incident response methodologies.
- Familiarity with SIEM technologies such as Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk, RSA NetWitness, LogRhythm, or similar security monitoring platforms.
- Basic knowledge of threat hunting, malware analysis, phishing investigations, and cyber threat intelligence concepts.
- Understanding of Windows Active Directory, operating systems, server environments, and enterprise IT infrastructure.
- Knowledge of scripting or automation tools such as Python for cybersecurity analysis and operational efficiency improvements.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms including Microsoft Azure and AWS, particularly cloud security and monitoring concepts.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify patterns, trends, and security anomalies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for documenting findings and collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint for reporting, documentation, and presentations.
- Willingness to work in rotational shifts and adapt to the operational requirements of a 24x7 Security Operations Center environment.
- Professional certifications such as Certified SOC Analyst (CSA), CISM, CCSP, Microsoft Security Certifications, or related credentials will be an added advantage.
Expected Salary
The expected salary for an Analyst β Consulting Implementation at KPMG India generally ranges between βΉ4.5 LPA and βΉ8.5 LPA, depending on educational background, cybersecurity knowledge, certifications, technical expertise, and prior experience. Candidates possessing hands-on experience with SIEM tools, cloud security platforms, threat hunting methodologies, and cybersecurity certifications may receive compensation packages toward the higher end of the range along with performance-based incentives and career development opportunities.
