Job Description:
The Financial Analyst role at American Express is a high-impact opportunity within the Card & Merchant Accounting and Controls (CMAC) team, which plays a critical role in maintaining the financial integrity of card operations and accounting processes. You will be involved in managing accounting processes related to card member transactions, receivables, and financial reporting.
In this role, you will support key accounting functions such as accounts receivable (AR) management, ledger reconciliation, and financial reporting processes. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including finance, treasury, technology, and operations to ensure accurate financial records and compliance with accounting standards such as US GAAP. The role also involves investigating financial discrepancies, ensuring timely resolution, and supporting month-end and quarter-end closing activities.

Roles & Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain financial integrity of accounts receivable (AR) ledgers and related accounting processes.
- Perform reconciliation of sub-ledgers and ensure accuracy in financial records and reporting.
- Support month-end and quarter-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in financial transactions, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
- Collaborate with finance, treasury, and technology teams to implement solutions for reporting and accounting processes.
- Support the Sale of Receivable process and ensure compliance with reporting requirements.
- Develop and deploy analytics to provide insights into financial data and support business decision-making.
- Identify opportunities for process simplification, automation, and efficiency improvements.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders and provide updates on financial processes and risks.
Requirements & Eligibility:
- Bachelorβs degree in Commerce (B.Com) or equivalent, or CA Inter/Postgraduate with relevant experience.
- 1β3 years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, or related roles.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards such as US GAAP.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for data analysis and reporting.
- Familiarity with AR systems and financial platforms is an advantage.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to understand financial processes and identify linkages across systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder collaboration.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to learn new tools, technologies, and financial systems.
Expected Salary:
For a Financial Analyst with 1β3 years of experience in Gurugram, the typical salary ranges between βΉ7 LPA to βΉ14 LPA, depending on accounting expertise, analytical skills, and experience with financial systems.
