Job Description
The Goldman Sachs AWM Management F&S Analyst role in Bengaluru offers an opportunity to work with the Finance team supporting the firm's Asset & Wealth Management (AWM) division. The position is designed for analytically strong professionals who enjoy working with financial data, developing business insights, building quantitative models, and supporting management-level decision-making. As part of the Divisional CFO function, the Analyst will contribute to project-based assignments covering financial performance, profitability, forecasting, business strategy, risk management, expenses, sales productivity, and growth initiatives. The work can range from short-term analytical assignments to projects extending across several months, giving analysts exposure to different areas of the business and the opportunity to understand how financial information influences commercial and strategic decisions. This makes the role particularly relevant for candidates with a background in finance, accounting, business analytics, financial analysis, or quantitative disciplines.
A significant component of the role involves working with large volumes of financial and operational data and converting that information into meaningful insights for senior stakeholders. The Finance Analyst may support forecasting and budgeting activities, prepare profitability analysis, compare operating performance against industry competitors, analyze pricing and new mandates, and evaluate the financial impact of growth-market initiatives. Candidates will also work with financial systems and operating infrastructure while developing an understanding of AWM's products, businesses, and financial performance. Experience with business intelligence platforms such as Qlik, Tableau, Power BI, and Alteryx can be particularly valuable because these technologies can help analysts create reporting workflows, automate data processes, build visualizations, and communicate complex information more effectively. Strong spreadsheet and financial-modeling capabilities, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret large datasets are therefore important for success in this position.
The Goldman Sachs Finance Analyst position also places significant emphasis on communication, collaboration, ownership, and commercial awareness. Analysts are expected not only to produce accurate numbers but also to explain what those numbers mean and highlight their broader strategic or business implications. The role requires professionals who can work effectively within small project teams, establish relationships across the organization, and manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment. Candidates with exposure to asset management, investment banking, management consulting, large datasets, technology, or programming may have an additional advantage. A postgraduate qualification in Finance or a Chartered Accountant qualification with 0–2 years of experience is preferred. For professionals seeking Goldman Sachs jobs in Bengaluru, finance analyst jobs, financial analyst careers, asset management jobs, business intelligence jobs, or investment banking-related opportunities, this role provides valuable exposure to financial strategy, performance analysis, data-driven decision-making, and one of the world's leading financial institutions.
