Caterpillar Inc. is hiring Associate Engineers in Bangalore to join its global engineering team focused on building innovative and sustainable industrial solutions. As an Associate Engineer, you will contribute to the design and development of diesel and gas generator systems (gensets), working on electrical components, subsystems, and control panels that power critical infrastructure worldwide. In this role, you will collaborate with experienced engineers and cross-functional teams to develop, model, and optimize electrical subsystems. Roles & Responsibilities:
- Support the design and development of electrical systems for diesel and gas generator sets, ensuring compliance with technical and performance requirements.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to create electrical schematics, wiring harness designs, and control panel layouts for genset systems.
- Develop concepts and models for electrical subsystems, ensuring proper integration with mechanical and software components.
- Participate in component selection, placement, and system configuration to optimize performance, efficiency, and reliability.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth execution of design, detailing, and product release processes.
- Analyze technical requirements and solve engineering problems using innovative and practical approaches.
- Assist in validation, testing, and certification processes to ensure product quality and compliance with industry standards.
- Utilize engineering tools such as CREO and Teamcenter for design modeling, data management, and product lifecycle activities.
- Contribute to failure analysis processes such as DFMEA and root cause analysis (RCA) to improve system reliability.
- Maintain documentation, design records, and technical reports to support engineering processes and knowledge sharing.
Requirements & Eligibility:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, with a strong understanding of core electrical concepts.
- 0–2 years of relevant experience in electrical design, product development, or engineering projects, with fresh graduates also encouraged to apply.
- Basic knowledge of electrical system design, including control panels, wiring harnesses, and schematic development.
- Familiarity with engineering design tools such as CREO and PLM systems like Teamcenter is an added advantage.
- Understanding of engineering processes such as DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) and RCA (Root Cause Analysis).
- Exposure to diesel or gas generator systems, automotive components, or heavy machinery design is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze technical challenges and propose effective solutions.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- High learning agility and willingness to adapt to new tools, technologies, and engineering methodologies.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment while maintaining accountability for assigned tasks and deliverables.
Expected Salary:
The expected salary for an Associate Engineer at Caterpillar in Bangalore typically ranges between ₹5 LPA to ₹10 LPA for candidates with 0–2 years of experience. Compensation may vary depending on technical skills, academic background, and prior experience.
