Job Description

As a QA Engineer at Rockwell Automation, you will play a vital role in ensuring the quality, stability, and reliability of digital platforms that power modern industrial automation. This role focuses on validating complex software solutions used by global manufacturing leaders, where quality directly impacts productivity, sustainability, and operational excellence. You will work closely with development teams to ensure every feature meets business expectations and delivers a seamless user experience.

In this position, you will be deeply involved across the testing lifecycle, from requirement analysis to system integration and user acceptance testing. You’ll help shape testing strategies, identify risks early, and ensure robust functional and regression coverage. Working in an Agile/Scrum environment, you will collaborate daily with developers, analysts, and stakeholders, contributing to sprint planning, execution, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive functional and regression testing to validate system behavior against requirements.

• Design, develop, and execute detailed test cases based on user stories, business logic, and technical specifications.

• Collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, and product stakeholders to understand requirements and define effective test scenarios.

• Identify, document, and report software defects with clear reproduction steps and impact analysis.

• Conduct system integration testing (SIT) and user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure end-to-end business readiness.

• Assess the impact of new features and enhancements to update test plans and regression suites accordingly.

• Identify opportunities for test automation and contribute to the development of automated test scripts where feasible.

• Review test execution results, track defect resolution, and ensure timely closure of quality issues.

• Actively participate in Agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.

• Continuously improve QA processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency and product quality.

Requirements & Eligibility

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline, ensuring a strong technical foundation.

• 6+ years of hands-on experience testing digital or enterprise-scale applications in complex environments.

• Strong expertise in test case design, execution, defect tracking, and test reporting practices.

• Experience with testing tools such as QTest, Tosca, Jira, or similar quality management platforms.

• Solid understanding of API testing, including REST and SOAP services, and integration testing concepts.

• Familiarity with Agile methodologies, particularly SAFe or Scrum-based delivery models.

• Working knowledge of databases and SQL for validating data accuracy and integrity.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

• ISTQB or similar testing certification is an advantage, demonstrating formal QA knowledge.
