Job Description

KPMG India is looking for a skilled and analytical Data Analytics Analyst to join its technology and consulting team. In this role, the candidate will contribute to data-driven decision-making by analyzing large datasets, identifying patterns, and generating insights that support business transformation initiatives. The position is designed for professionals who are passionate about data analytics, business intelligence, and advanced data handling techniques. As part of the team, you will work closely with stakeholders to understand business challenges and provide analytical solutions using modern data analytics tools and technologies.

The Data Analytics Analyst will be responsible for supporting business change initiatives and enabling organizations to simplify complex processes using data insights. This role involves working on data analytics projects, building dashboards, developing analytical models, and generating meaningful reports that help businesses make informed strategic decisions. By leveraging tools such as Python, SQL, Power BI, and advanced Excel, the analyst will transform raw data into valuable business intelligence that enhances operational efficiency and performance.

In addition to technical analytics work, the role requires strong collaboration with internal teams and external clients. The selected candidate will participate in audit-driven transformation projects and contribute to program-level analytics initiatives that improve business outcomes. Roles & Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed data analysis using tools such as Python, SQL, and Excel to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights that support strategic decision-making across business functions.

  • Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and visualizations using business intelligence tools like Power BI to present complex datasets in a clear and understandable format for stakeholders.

  • Work on data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes to ensure high-quality datasets are available for analytics and reporting activities.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into data analytics solutions that address operational challenges.

  • Utilize advanced Excel techniques including pivot tables, formulas, macros, and data modeling to analyze datasets and generate performance reports.

  • Support internal audit and business transformation initiatives by applying data analytics methods to identify inefficiencies, risks, and improvement opportunities.

  • Manage and handle large datasets while ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and reliability throughout the analytics lifecycle.

  • Contribute to client data analytics projects as an individual contributor while delivering high-quality insights, reports, and analytical deliverables.

  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across various organizational levels and ensure effective communication of data insights and project outcomes.

  • Continuously improve analytical processes and adopt modern data analytics tools, technologies, and methodologies to enhance business intelligence capabilities.


Requirements & Eligibility

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, BTech, BCA, or a related technical field. Candidates with strong academic backgrounds in analytics or statistics are preferred.

  • 2–5 years of professional experience in data analytics, data analysis, or business intelligence roles within consulting, technology, or analytics-driven environments.

  • Strong proficiency in Python programming for data analysis, including libraries used for data manipulation, visualization, and statistical analysis.

  • Advanced knowledge of SQL for querying databases, managing datasets, and performing complex data extraction and transformation tasks.

  • Hands-on experience with business intelligence tools such as Power BI for developing dashboards, data visualization, and interactive analytics reporting.

  • Familiarity with Alteryx or other data processing tools used for automation, workflow management, and advanced data preparation.

  • Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, complex formulas, data modeling, and spreadsheet-based analysis for business reporting.

  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities with the capability to convert complex data into actionable insights for business decision-making.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to explain analytical findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Professional certifications in Data Science, Data Analytics, or Business Intelligence are considered an added advantage and can strengthen candidacy.
