Job Description:

GlobalLogic, a Hitachi Group company and a global leader in digital engineering services, is looking for a skilled Java Developer (Backend) to join its Digital Systems & Services team in Pune. In this role, you will contribute to building high-performance backend systems that power modern digital platforms used by global enterprises. As a backend developer, you will work on scalable applications using Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture to deliver reliable and efficient solutions for mission-critical environments.

The position focuses on designing and developing microservices-based applications capable of handling high-volume and low-latency operations. You will collaborate with business analysts and development teams to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions. Using technologies such as PostgreSQL, messaging systems like Kafka or RabbitMQ, and search platforms like ElasticSearch, you will develop distributed systems that ensure efficient data processing and seamless service communication. Your work will play a key role in enabling scalable and resilient enterprise applications.

This role also emphasizes modern DevOps and cloud-based practices. You will work with containerization tools like Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes to deploy and manage applications in cloud environments. With exposure to CI/CD pipelines and cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, you will contribute to faster delivery cycles and improved system reliability. By collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will help GlobalLogic deliver innovative digital engineering solutions for global clients.

Roles & Responsibilities:

1. Design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend applications using Java and Spring Boot for enterprise-grade systems.

2. Build and manage microservices architectures that support scalable and distributed application environments.

3. Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to understand requirements and implement technical solutions.

4. Develop REST APIs and integration services to enable seamless communication between microservices and external systems.

5. Work with PostgreSQL databases for data storage, query optimization, and performance tuning.

6. Implement messaging solutions using platforms such as Kafka or RabbitMQ for reliable event-driven communication.

7. Participate in code reviews, debugging, and performance optimization to ensure high-quality software delivery.

8. Utilize Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration of applications in cloud environments.

9. Implement CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins or GitLab to automate build, testing, and deployment processes.

10. Contribute to all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) including design, development, testing, and maintenance.

Requirements & Eligibility:

1. Strong hands-on experience in Java development, preferably with Java 17 or later versions.

2. Proficiency in Spring Framework and Spring Boot for building enterprise-level backend applications.

3. Experience in designing and implementing microservices-based architectures for scalable applications.

4. Practical experience working with PostgreSQL databases including query optimization and data modeling.

5. Knowledge of messaging platforms such as Apache Kafka or RabbitMQ for event-driven architectures.

6. Familiarity with ElasticSearch for search functionality and indexing capabilities.

7. Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.

8. Understanding of CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab, or similar automation platforms.

9. Exposure to cloud platforms including AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.

10. Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles, REST APIs, and modern backend development practices.

Expected Salary:

For a Java Backend Developer with relevant experience in Pune’s product engineering and digital services sector, the typical salary range generally falls between ₹8 LPA to ₹18 LPA depending on expertise in microservices, Spring Boot, cloud platforms, and distributed systems architecture. Professionals with strong DevOps knowledge and experience in scalable backend systems may receive compensation at the higher end of the market range.
