Job Description:

The Automation Java Test Engineer role at Citi is a senior-level opportunity for experienced QA professionals to lead automation initiatives for enterprise-grade financial systems. In this role, you will design and develop advanced automation frameworks using Selenium WebDriver, TestNG, and JUnit, ensuring comprehensive test coverage across complex applications. You will collaborate closely with development, product, and QA teams to define testing strategies, integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines, and ensure continuous testing. Additionally, you will work on API automation using tools like REST Assured and Postman, validating backend systems and microservices architectures.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks using Java, Selenium WebDriver, TestNG, and JUnit for enterprise applications.
• Create detailed test strategies, test plans, and test cases to ensure comprehensive validation of software systems.
• Perform API automation testing using tools such as REST Assured and Postman, ensuring seamless backend integration.
• Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
• Collaborate with developers and product teams to understand requirements, identify risks, and ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Perform root cause analysis of defects and work with development teams to resolve issues efficiently.
• Mentor junior and mid-level QA engineers, providing guidance on automation frameworks and best practices.
• Validate data integrity by working with relational and NoSQL databases, writing complex queries for testing.
• Continuously improve QA processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency and product quality.
• Stay updated with the latest testing tools, frameworks, and industry trends to drive innovation in automation.

Requirements & Eligibility:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, with strong fundamentals in software development and testing.
• 7+ years of experience in software quality assurance, with at least 4 years focused on automation testing.
• Expert-level proficiency in Java programming for developing automation frameworks.
• Extensive experience with Selenium WebDriver and frameworks like TestNG or JUnit.
• Experience with BDD frameworks such as Cucumber or Serenity BDD for behavior-driven testing.
• Hands-on experience in API testing using REST Assured, Postman, or similar tools.
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
• Proficiency in version control systems like Git, ensuring efficient collaboration and code management.
• Understanding of relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MongoDB) with strong query-writing skills.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with leadership and mentoring capabilities.

Expected Salary:

For a Senior Automation Java Test Engineer with 7+ years of experience in Pune, the typical salary ranges between ₹15 LPA to ₹30 LPA, depending on expertise in Java automation, CI/CD integration, and leadership experience.
