Capgemini is hiring a Business Analyst in Pune to support the development and enhancement of investment banking data products within complex financial ecosystems. Roles & Responsibilities

• Act as the primary Business Analyst supporting investment banking data product development and financial data asset enhancements.

• Gather, analyze, and document detailed business requirements from Finance, Product Control, Middle Office, and Front Office stakeholders.

• Translate accounting principles and financial product logic into structured functional requirements for data platforms.

• Develop and maintain data dictionaries, data lineage documentation, and validation/control frameworks.

• Design and validate data models supporting P&L, balance sheet, trade lifecycle, and valuation reporting.

• Perform advanced SQL-based data extraction and reconciliation to validate financial datasets.

• Build prototypes and automate analyses using Python and/or VBA to improve data validation efficiency.

• Collaborate with data engineering teams to ensure accurate data sourcing, transformation, and governance controls.

• Participate in system testing (UAT), solution design discussions, and production go-live support activities.

• Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on finance and accounting concepts during project lifecycles.

Requirements & Eligibility

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Computer Science, or a related field.

• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial statements, and investment banking product accounting.

• Experience working with financial instruments such as derivatives, fixed income, equities, or structured products.

• Advanced SQL skills for querying large datasets, performing reconciliations, and troubleshooting data quality issues.

• Proficiency in Python and/or VBA for building automation scripts and analytical prototypes.

• Knowledge of data modeling concepts and experience working with data lineage and validation frameworks.

• Familiarity with trade lifecycle processes, P&L reporting, balance sheet structures, and valuation methodologies.

• Strong analytical thinking with the ability to identify process gaps and recommend improvements.

• Excellent communication skills to collaborate across Finance, Risk, Technology, and Operations teams.

• Experience working in Agile or structured project environments within financial services is preferred.
