Job Description

Medpace is hiring a Software QA Test Engineer (Validation Engineer) to join its growing IT team in Navi Mumbai. As a global clinical research organization (CRO), Medpace plays a critical role in supporting pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device companies in developing life-saving therapies. This role focuses on ensuring the quality and reliability of internal software systems that support clinical research operations. The QA Engineer will work closely with developers and end users to validate applications, ensuring they meet regulatory standards and business requirements.

The position involves designing and executing test cases, maintaining test plans, and validating backend systems through SQL-based testing. The QA Engineer will analyze requirement specifications, ensure complete test coverage, and identify defects during the software development lifecycle. With a strong focus on database validation, the role requires the ability to write and execute complex SQL queries across various database systems such as MSSQL, MongoDB, and Cassandra. This ensures data integrity and system accuracy in highly regulated healthcare environments.

In addition to testing responsibilities, the role emphasizes collaboration and continuous improvement. The QA Engineer will participate in peer reviews, support user acceptance testing, and contribute to improving testing processes. Roles & Responsibilities

1. Collaborate with developers and end users throughout the software development lifecycle to ensure application quality.

2. Design, create, and maintain test cases, test plans, and related documentation.

3. Perform manual testing of applications to validate functionality and performance.

4. Write and execute SQL queries for backend and database validation.

5. Identify, document, and report software defects and inconsistencies.

6. Review and analyze requirement specifications to ensure complete test coverage.

7. Participate in peer reviews of test cases to improve testing quality.

8. Support execution of user acceptance testing (UAT) and ensure application readiness.

9. Validate data integrity across systems using various database tools.

10. Continuously improve testing methodologies and ensure compliance with industry standards.

Requirements & Eligibility

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related technical field.

2. Minimum 1 to 2 years of experience in software testing or QA roles.

3. Experience in writing and executing manual test cases for complex applications.

4. Strong knowledge of SQL and ability to write complex queries for database validation.

5. Experience working with database tools such as Cassandra, MSSQL, MongoDB, or Studio 3T.

6. Familiarity with Agile methodologies and working in cross-functional teams.

7. Good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

8. Ability to understand and analyze business and technical requirements.

9. Experience in healthcare or regulated environments is an added advantage.

10. Knowledge of tools like Snowflake is considered a plus.

The average salary for a Software QA Test Engineer with 1–2 years of experience in India typically ranges between ₹4 LPA to ₹9 LPA, depending on expertise in database testing, domain knowledge, and technical skills.
