Job Description:
The Testing Lead role at IDFC FIRST Bank is a critical position within the Technology and Digital Banking division, focused on ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of modern banking applications. As a Technology Lead, you will play a key role in driving end-to-end testing strategies for microservices-based architectures, APIs, and enterprise applications. This role is ideal for experienced QA professionals who are passionate about automation, performance testing, and delivering seamless digital banking experiences to customers.
In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable test automation frameworks for web, API, and event-driven systems such as Kafka. You will collaborate closely with development, DevOps, and product teams to integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines, ensuring high-quality releases. Your expertise in tools like Selenium, Core Java, and testing methodologies will help maintain robust testing processes and improve overall system performance.
Working in a fast-paced banking environment, you will lead and mentor QA teams, ensuring best practices in testing and automation are followed. You will also focus on continuous improvement of testing frameworks, enabling faster releases and enhanced system reliability. Roles & Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable and reusable test automation frameworks for web applications, APIs, and Kafka-based systems, ensuring robust testing coverage.
- Create and execute automated test scripts for functional, regression, and end-to-end testing, ensuring application stability and performance.
- Perform performance testing and benchmarking to evaluate system scalability, responsiveness, and reliability under different load conditions.
- Integrate automated testing frameworks with CI/CD pipelines, ensuring seamless execution during build and deployment cycles.
- Collaborate with development teams to identify, analyze, and resolve defects, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality software products.
- Plan and execute manual and automated test cases, ensuring comprehensive validation of business requirements and system functionalities.
- Use version control systems like Git for managing test scripts, ensuring proper branching, merging, and repository maintenance.
- Analyze test results, generate detailed reports, and provide actionable insights to improve product quality and performance.
- Mentor and guide junior QA engineers in automation tools, frameworks, and best practices, fostering a strong quality engineering culture.
- Continuously enhance testing processes, frameworks, and tools to improve efficiency, reduce defects, and accelerate release cycles.
Requirements & Eligibility:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc, B.Tech, BCA) or Master’s degree (M.Sc, M.Tech, MCA) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Strong hands-on experience in Core Java and Selenium, with the ability to design and implement advanced automation frameworks.
- Proven experience in test automation for web applications, APIs, and distributed systems, including microservices architecture.
- Hands-on experience in performance testing tools and techniques, enabling system benchmarking and optimization.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices, ensuring seamless integration of automated testing processes.
- Proficiency in version control systems such as Git, including branching strategies and repository management.
- Experience with Kafka or event-driven architectures is preferred, adding value to testing complex distributed systems.
- Solid understanding of software testing methodologies, including functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and the ability to identify and resolve complex defects.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to mentor teams and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders.
Expected Salary:
For a Testing Lead role in Mumbai with 5–10 years of experience, the typical salary ranges between ₹15 LPA to ₹30 LPA, depending on expertise in automation, performance testing, and leadership experience.
