Job Description

HSBC is seeking a motivated Data Analyst to join its Branch and Retail Banking division in Mumbai. The position focuses on analyzing marketing campaign data, preparing datasets from multiple sources, and generating insights that guide business decisions. The Data Analyst will work closely with marketing, product, and business teams to evaluate customer engagement metrics and identify opportunities for improving campaign effectiveness. This involves using analytical tools and reporting platforms such as Excel, Power BI, Looker, and SQL to develop dashboards and performance reports that provide stakeholders with real-time visibility into campaign outcomes.

Roles & Responsibilities

  1. Analyze marketing campaign performance data to evaluate customer engagement and identify key metrics that determine campaign success.

  2. Collect and prepare data from multiple sources such as CRM platforms, digital marketing systems, and customer databases for detailed analysis.

  3. Develop dashboards and performance reports using analytics tools such as Excel, Power BI, or Looker to monitor campaign effectiveness.

  4. Interpret campaign data and generate actionable insights that help marketing teams optimize future campaigns and improve customer targeting.

  5. Collaborate with marketing, product, and business teams to understand campaign objectives and provide analytical solutions that support business growth.

  6. Monitor customer response rates and engagement metrics to identify trends and opportunities for improving marketing performance.

  7. Conduct exploratory data analysis to uncover hidden patterns in customer data that can support better decision-making.

  8. Maintain detailed documentation of analytics methodologies, data sources, and reporting processes for transparency and knowledge sharing.

  9. Stay updated with emerging trends in data analytics, marketing analytics, and digital customer engagement technologies.

  10. Support the development of data-driven strategies that enhance customer acquisition, retention, and overall marketing performance.


Requirements & Eligibility

  1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or a related quantitative discipline.

  2. Strong analytical thinking and quantitative skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets and derive meaningful insights.

  3. Basic knowledge of data analysis tools such as SQL, Python, Power BI, Looker, or Google BigQuery.

  4. Understanding of marketing analytics concepts including campaign performance metrics, customer segmentation, and engagement analysis.

  5. Familiarity with data visualization tools used for creating dashboards and reports for business stakeholders.

  6. Strong communication skills with the ability to explain analytical insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  7. Demonstrated problem-solving ability through academic projects, internships, hackathons, or data analysis assignments.

  8. Ability to work effectively in collaborative environments with cross-functional teams across marketing and business departments.

  9. Willingness to learn new tools and technologies in the rapidly evolving field of data analytics.

  10. Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple analytical tasks in a fast-paced business environment.
