BlackRock is hiring an Analyst, AI Engineer to join its Strategic Initiative team within Outsource Platform Services in Mumbai. In this position, you will work with technologies including Python, Java, AI frameworks, Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, Cassandra, and other open-source technologies to build scalable and production-ready solutions. You will collaborate closely with users, designers, developers, and product managers to transform business requirements and innovative concepts into working prototypes and technology solutions. A major focus of the role is applying AI and software engineering to optimize processes, improve data-driven decision-making, and create solutions for BlackRock and its client organizations operating within the Aladdin ecosystem. You will work in an Agile environment where incremental development, automated testing, code quality, experimentation, and continuous improvement are important parts of everyday engineering.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deliver scalable software solutions, including AI-powered applications, that address complex business challenges and support the organization's technology strategy.
• Build AI-driven solutions using modern frameworks such as Google ADK, LangGraph, and LangChain, applying appropriate AI techniques to practical enterprise use cases.
• Develop backend and application components using Python and Java, following object-oriented design principles, clean coding practices, and maintainable software architecture.
• Collaborate with users, designers, developers, product managers, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and transform ideas into functional prototypes and production-ready solutions.
• Work with technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, Cassandra, and other open-source platforms to develop scalable and reliable technology solutions.
• Participate in Agile development processes including sprint planning, stand-ups, backlog discussions, code reviews, demonstrations, retrospectives, and incremental delivery.
• Develop testable software regularly by writing appropriate unit tests, validating functionality, identifying defects, and continuously improving the reliability and quality of technical solutions.
• Use DevOps tools including Git, Maven, Jenkins, and Azure DevOps to support source control, build management, continuous integration, deployment, and collaborative software development.
• Analyze complex business and technology challenges, identify opportunities for process optimization, and develop innovative solutions using data, automation, AI, and software engineering.
• Take ownership of assigned deliveries, communicate progress and challenges clearly, collaborate with geographically distributed teams, and ensure projects are completed within expected quality and timeline standards.

Requirements & Eligibility

• Bachelor's degree or four-year equivalent qualification specializing in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a closely related technical field from a recognized institution.
• At least one year of practical experience with Python, including the ability to develop production-quality code, work with libraries, and apply Python to software or AI engineering projects.
• Hands-on exposure to modern AI open-source frameworks, particularly technologies such as Google ADK, LangGraph, and LangChain, with an understanding of how they can be used to build AI-powered applications.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and design patterns, with the ability to create modular, reusable, scalable, and maintainable software components.
• Familiarity with DevOps and software engineering tools including Git, Maven, Jenkins, and Azure DevOps, along with an understanding of source control, build automation, and development workflows.
• Knowledge of Agile software development methodologies, including sprint-based development, iterative delivery, collaborative planning, code reviews, and continuous improvement practices.
• Exposure to technologies such as Java, Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, Cassandra, or other modern distributed and open-source technologies will be highly valuable for this role.
• Excellent written, verbal, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to developers, business stakeholders, clients, and cross-functional teams.
• Strong ownership, critical thinking, attention to detail, curiosity, adaptability, and problem-solving capabilities, particularly when working on complex and rapidly changing technology challenges.
• Ability to work effectively with teams across different geographies, manage responsibilities in a high-intensity environment, remain flexible toward emerging technologies, and continuously learn new AI and software engineering concepts.

Expected Salary

The estimated annual compensation for an Analyst, AI Engineer at BlackRock in Mumbai can reasonably be placed around ₹12 LPA to ₹20 LPA, depending on relevant experience, AI engineering expertise, programming skills, interview performance, and the overall compensation structure.
