Job Description:

Apple is hiring a Software Engineer (Framework) for its AI & Data Platforms team in Hyderabad, offering a unique opportunity to work at the core of Apple’s Information Systems and Technology division. This team acts as the backbone of Apple’s global operations, supporting everything from Apple Pay to enterprise analytics and large-scale data platforms. In this role, you will design and build advanced frameworks and tools that power data processing, analytics, and machine learning systems used across business functions like Retail, Marketing, Finance, and Operations.

As a Software Engineer, you will develop scalable, cloud-native applications and frameworks that enhance data observability, lineage, and visualization capabilities. You will work on building custom solutions from scratch or extending open-source technologies to meet Apple’s enterprise-scale needs. The role requires strong expertise in backend development, microservices architecture, and API design, along with hands-on experience in technologies such as Java, Python, or Scala. Your work will directly contribute to building intelligent systems that enable data-driven decision-making across Apple’s ecosystem.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Design and develop scalable frameworks and tools for data processing, analytics, and machine learning platforms. Ensure high performance and reliability.
• Build and maintain microservices and REST APIs to support data platforms and enterprise applications. Focus on scalability and maintainability.
• Develop cloud-native applications using platforms such as AWS, GCP, or similar technologies, ensuring efficient deployment and performance.
• Work on data observability, lineage tracking, and visualization tools to improve data transparency and usability across systems.
• Customize and extend open-source tools or build solutions from scratch to meet Apple’s internal requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, product managers, and engineers, to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Implement DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and orchestration using Kubernetes.
• Optimize performance of applications and data systems, ensuring efficient handling of large-scale datasets.
• Explore and implement advanced AI technologies such as LLM frameworks, RAG systems, and distributed computing solutions.
• Ensure code quality, security, and best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.

Requirements & Eligibility:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field from a reputed institution.
• 3–6 years of experience in software development, particularly in backend systems, data platforms, or cloud-based applications.
• Strong programming skills in Java, Python, or Scala, with the ability to write efficient and scalable code.
• Experience designing and developing microservices and REST APIs for large-scale applications.
• Proficiency in working with SQL and NoSQL databases, including performance optimization and data modeling.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or similar, including deployment and infrastructure management.
• Familiarity with DevOps tools, containerization (Docker), and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of big data technologies such as Spark, Hive, or Trino is highly desirable.
• Exposure to AI/ML frameworks, including LLM serving, LangChain, or LlamaIndex, is an added advantage.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.

The expected salary for a Software Engineer (Framework) at Apple in Hyderabad typically ranges between ₹25 LPA to ₹50 LPA, depending on experience, expertise in cloud and data platforms, and proficiency in backend technologies.
