Job Description

The Quality Automation Specialist role at NatWest Digital X is a core technology quality position focused on embedding automation-driven quality across the entire digital delivery lifecycle. In this role, you will actively contribute to the transformation of testing practices by leveraging intelligent automation strategies, reusable frameworks, and predictive testing approaches. You will design and implement stable, low-maintenance automation solutions that support end-to-end validation across platforms and domains. By aligning automation strategies with business and program objectives, you will help ensure that quality, compliance, and regulatory requirements are consistently met without slowing innovation.

As part of NatWest Digital X, you will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, including engineers, product owners, and platform teams, gaining exposure to enterprise-scale digital systems. Roles & Responsibilities

• Enable and execute automated testing activities across multiple delivery models, ensuring continuous quality assurance.

• Support feature teams in building high-quality solutions with continuous integration and automated validation pipelines.

• Design automation test strategies aligned with business, program, and regulatory objectives.

• Develop and evolve predictive, intelligent testing approaches using automation-first methodologies.

• Collaborate with teams to define the scope of manual and automated testing and identify optimal coverage.

• Design, build, and maintain stable, reusable, low-maintenance automation test suites for cross-domain usage.

• Create automated test scripts, user documentation, and quality artefacts supporting end-to-end testing.

• Apply enterprise testing standards while adhering to compliance, regulatory, and security requirements.

• Work closely with cross-domain, platform, and feature teams to embed quality throughout the product lifecycle.

• Continuously improve testing processes, tools, and methodologies to reduce cost and accelerate delivery timelines.

Requirements & Eligibility

• Strong experience in automation testing within Agile and CI/CD-driven development environments.

• Hands-on expertise in end-to-end automation testing using enterprise-recommended tools such as Pytest or Cucumber.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience using Selenium or Tosca with strong TDD and BDD practices.

• Advanced programming skills in Java or Python for building and maintaining automation solutions.

• Proven experience designing, developing, and implementing automation frameworks in new environments.

• Solid understanding of Agile methodologies and ability to align daily work with feature-level strategy.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an automation-first mindset.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to senior stakeholders.

• Strong collaboration and stakeholder management capabilities in cross-functional teams.
