Job Description:

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor a team of QA engineers, providing technical guidance and ensuring adherence to best practices in automation testing.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks from scratch or enhance existing frameworks for improved efficiency.
• Actively participate in coding, automation development, and code reviews to maintain high-quality engineering standards.
• Own end-to-end testing strategies, including test planning, regression testing, and QA sign-offs for project deliverables.
• Collaborate with data and engineering teams to implement data quality validation frameworks using tools like DBT and Snowflake.
• Perform data reconciliation and validation testing to ensure data accuracy and consistency across systems.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines, ensuring seamless execution and faster release cycles.
• Manage source code using Git-based systems such as GitHub or GitLab, including branching strategies and pull request reviews.
• Develop and enforce best practices for test automation, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and performance of frameworks.
• Continuously explore new tools, technologies, and methodologies to enhance testing efficiency and innovation.

Requirements & Eligibility:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, with strong foundational knowledge in software testing and development.
• 7+ years of experience in QA and automation testing, with at least 3+ years in a leadership role managing teams.
• Strong programming expertise in languages such as Python, Java, or similar, enabling development of automation frameworks.
• Proven experience in building or re-architecting automation frameworks from scratch for enterprise-level applications.
• Solid understanding of regression testing, test planning, and QA sign-off processes in large-scale projects.
• Experience working with modern data platforms such as DBT, Snowflake, or similar technologies for data validation.
• Proficiency in version control systems like GitHub or GitLab, including code reviews and collaboration workflows.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools and automation pipelines, ensuring seamless integration of testing processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work on complex data and application systems.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with global teams and stakeholders.

Expected Salary:

For a Lead Automation QA Engineer with 7+ years of experience in Chennai, the typical salary ranges between ₹18 LPA to ₹35 LPA, depending on expertise in automation frameworks, data engineering tools, and leadership experience.
