Job Description:

Eaton is offering an excellent opportunity for fresh engineering graduates to join as Associate Engineers through its Graduate Trainee program in Chennai. This role is designed to provide structured learning and hands-on experience in product development, value engineering, and innovation initiatives. Candidates will work across diverse domains including electronics, embedded systems, and mechanical design, making it an ideal starting point for building a strong engineering career.

During the initial 12-month training program, you will gain exposure to real-world engineering challenges while working closely with global teams. You will contribute to designing and developing components, performing simulations, and supporting prototyping and validation processes. The role emphasizes understanding industry standards and compliance requirements such as UL and IEC, ensuring that all developed solutions meet global quality and safety benchmarks. This hands-on training approach ensures that graduates are well-prepared to transition into full-time engineering roles within the organization.

Upon successful completion of the training program, candidates will progress into the Associate Engineer role, taking on greater responsibilities in product development and engineering innovation. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including research and development, manufacturing, and supply chain, contributing to impactful projects that address real-world power management challenges. This role not only enhances technical expertise but also fosters problem-solving, teamwork, and professional growth in a globally recognized organization.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Assist in designing electrical, electronic, mechanical, or embedded system components, ensuring alignment with product requirements and engineering standards.
• Support CAD modeling, schematic design, and simulation activities using industry-standard tools to develop accurate and efficient designs.
• Participate in concept development, prototyping, and validation phases to ensure the feasibility and reliability of engineering solutions.
• Prepare and maintain detailed engineering documentation, including design reports, bills of materials (BOMs), compliance checklists, and test procedures.
• Document test results and assist in root cause analysis to identify and resolve product or system failures effectively.
• Collaborate with global research and development, certification, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to ensure seamless project execution.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards such as UL and IEC, as well as internal quality and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in technical reviews, cost optimization initiatives, and knowledge-sharing sessions to enhance team performance and innovation.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting design enhancements and process optimizations.
• Maintain high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency in all assigned engineering tasks.

Requirements & Eligibility:

• Bachelor’s degree (B.E/B.Tech) in Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical, or a related engineering discipline with a strong academic record (preferably above 8.5 CGPA).
• Strong fundamentals in core engineering concepts, enabling effective problem-solving and technical analysis.
• Familiarity with CAD tools such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks, and exposure to PCB design tools like Altium or simulation software.
• Basic understanding of industry compliance standards such as UL and IEC is an added advantage.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and optimize engineering solutions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively in a global team environment.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented setting while also demonstrating initiative and accountability.
• Willingness to learn, adapt, and grow in a fast-paced engineering and innovation-driven environment.
• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards in design and development processes.
• No history of academic arrears, with a consistent academic performance throughout the course.

Expected Salary:

The expected salary for an Associate Engineer at Eaton in India typically ranges between ₹4 LPA to ₹8 LPA for fresh graduates, depending on academic performance, technical skills, and training outcomes. During the trainee period, candidates may receive a stipend, with full-time compensation and benefits offered upon successful completion of the program.
