Job Description:

BNP Paribas India Solutions is hiring a Test Engineer in Chennai to support its global banking and financial services technology operations. As part of one of the largest international banking groups, this role offers an excellent opportunity to work on enterprise-grade applications supporting middle office, fund accounting, and global financial systems. The position focuses on ensuring software quality, reliability, and performance for critical banking applications used across multiple geographies.

In this role, you will design and execute test cases based on both functional and non-functional requirements. You will perform manual testing, identify defects, and collaborate with development and business teams to ensure timely resolution. The role also involves regression testing, process analysis, and maintaining detailed documentation such as test plans and reports. Your work will directly contribute to maintaining system stability and improving operational efficiency in financial applications.

Additionally, this role emphasizes continuous learning and collaboration in a dynamic banking environment. You will gain exposure to capital markets, middle office operations, and asset management systems. Roles & Responsibilities:

• Design and develop test cases based on functional and non-functional specifications to ensure application quality.
• Execute manual test cases, identify defects, and report issues with clear documentation and analysis.
• Perform regression testing to ensure new features do not impact existing system functionality.
• Track defects through their lifecycle, verify bug fixes, and ensure timely resolution of issues.
• Create and maintain test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and execution reports.
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to improve software quality and usability.
• Participate in project meetings and contribute to testing strategies, timelines, and quality improvements.
• Analyze process flows and data flows to identify gaps and opportunities for productivity enhancements.
• Support internal IT testing and contribute to middle office and fund accounting system validation.
• Continuously improve testing processes and adopt best practices in software quality assurance.

Requirements & Eligibility:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of software testing processes, methodologies, and test management tools.
• Knowledge of SQL with the ability to write simple to moderately complex queries for validation.
• Familiarity with Unix shell scripting basics is an added advantage.
• Understanding of capital markets, asset types, and middle office functions is beneficial.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to identify defects and improve processes.
• Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with teams and stakeholders.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment with a client-focused mindset.
• Strong learning attitude with persistence in acquiring new technical and domain knowledge.
• Ability to adapt to changing requirements and work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
