Job Description

Qualcomm is offering an Interim Intern – OneIT opportunity in Bangalore for B.Tech students graduating in 2026 who are interested in information technology, software engineering, infrastructure, cloud computing, data, and enterprise technology. As an IT intern, you will work alongside experienced IT professionals and engineers and gain practical exposure to the technologies and systems that support a large global technology organization. The internship can involve framework rollouts, technology implementation, system integration, feature development, testing, documentation, data analysis, security, application support, and infrastructure maintenance. This makes the opportunity particularly valuable for students who want to understand how enterprise IT environments operate and how software, infrastructure, cloud platforms, databases, security systems, and business applications work together.

The internship provides exposure to a broad technology ecosystem rather than restricting students to one programming language or platform. Depending on the assigned project, interns may work with Linux, Windows, Android, AWS, Azure, Git, GitHub, Splunk, Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Ansible, Java, Python, JavaScript, SQL databases, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Oracle, Hadoop, React, Angular, Tableau, Power BI, Spark, and Airflow. Responsibilities may also include server and system administration, network security, vendor management, database maintenance, project coordination, and enterprise service management. Interns can therefore develop a practical understanding of the complete technology lifecycle, from application development and testing to deployment, monitoring, infrastructure management, and operational support.

The Qualcomm OneIT internship is particularly suited to students who want to explore multiple career paths within enterprise technology before specializing in an area such as software development, DevOps, cloud engineering, data engineering, cybersecurity, database administration, IT infrastructure, or technical project management. Working in a technology-driven environment can help students strengthen problem-solving, documentation, teamwork, analytical thinking, and technical communication skills while applying their academic knowledge to real-world projects. Exposure to cloud services, DevOps automation, high-performance computing, virtualization, enterprise applications, analytics, and modern development frameworks can provide a strong foundation for graduates beginning their careers in the technology industry.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Support IT technology implementations and framework rollouts by assisting engineering and IT teams with deployment activities, configuration tasks, documentation, testing, and validation of new enterprise technology solutions.
  • Assist with system-level integration activities by investigating integration issues between applications, infrastructure components, databases, services, and enterprise platforms.
  • Contribute to feature development and integration by working with technical teams to understand requirements, implement assigned components, test functionality, and support successful deployment.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation including technical notes, implementation records, process documents, project updates, testing information, and operational references.
  • Support data analysis initiatives by collecting, organizing, validating, and analyzing data using appropriate tools and technologies to help teams identify useful business or operational insights.
  • Assist with application, database, and infrastructure support by participating in testing, maintenance, troubleshooting, monitoring, and routine operational activities.
  • Gain exposure to cloud and DevOps environments by working with platforms and tools such as AWS, Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Ansible, Chef, and Azure DevOps.
  • Support network and security operations by learning about enterprise networking, firewalls, VPN technologies, monitoring systems, proxy services, and security-related infrastructure.
  • Work with version control and operational tools such as Git, GitHub, Splunk, Perforce, and system logging platforms to support software development and IT operations.
  • Assist with server and system administration by supporting operating systems, infrastructure environments, monitoring tools, storage systems, virtualization platforms, and enterprise computing resources.
  • Contribute to analytics and data engineering projects involving ETL workflows, Spark, Airflow, Informatica, Tableau, Power BI, and custom data-driven applications where applicable.
  • Collaborate with IT professionals and engineers across different technical teams, communicate project progress, learn enterprise engineering practices, and contribute to assigned project objectives.

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Educational Qualification: Candidates must be pursuing or completing a B.Tech degree and should belong to the 2026 graduating batch, as specified for this internship opportunity.

  • Programming Fundamentals: Basic knowledge of programming languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript, Go, Scala, or Objective-C can help candidates contribute effectively to software development and automation projects.
  • Operating Systems Knowledge: Familiarity with Linux, Windows, Android, or other operating system environments is valuable for candidates interested in application support, infrastructure, development, or system administration.
  • Cloud Computing: Basic exposure to AWS or Microsoft Azure is advantageous, particularly for students interested in cloud engineering, DevOps, infrastructure, or enterprise application development.
  • Database Knowledge: Understanding of relational and NoSQL database concepts is beneficial, including familiarity with platforms such as Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, or similar technologies.
  • Development & Version Control: Familiarity with Git/GitHub and software development workflows is useful for collaborating on code, managing changes, and understanding professional engineering practices.
  • DevOps & Automation Exposure: Knowledge of technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Ansible, Chef, or Azure DevOps can provide an advantage for students interested in modern deployment and infrastructure automation.
  • Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Candidates should demonstrate logical thinking, curiosity, attention to detail, and the ability to investigate technical issues and learn unfamiliar technologies quickly.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Strong written and verbal communication skills, teamwork, willingness to learn, and the ability to work effectively with IT professionals and engineers are important for succeeding in a collaborative internship environment.

Expected Salary

As this is a Qualcomm internship for B.Tech 2026 graduates, the compensation is expected to be structured as an internship stipend rather than a conventional full-time salary. Based on typical technology-company internship compensation in Bangalore, candidates can reasonably expect a stipend in the range of approximately ₹30,000–₹60,000 per month, although the actual Qualcomm offer may vary based on the internship program, candidate profile, project assignment, and applicable company compensation structure.
