Job Description:
Wipro is hiring a SAM Analyst (Software Asset Management / Configuration Management) in Bangalore to support its global IT infrastructure and digital transformation initiatives. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and ensuring the integrity of IT assets and infrastructure components. As a SAM Analyst, you will oversee the lifecycle of configuration items (CIs), including their registration, tracking, auditing, and reporting. You will work closely with cross-functional teams such as change management, release management, and procurement to ensure that all updates to the configuration system are properly controlled and documented. The role also involves analyzing CMDB data, identifying discrepancies, and implementing improvements to enhance system accuracy and efficiency. Your work will directly contribute to better IT service management and operational excellence.

Roles & Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain the Configuration Management Database (CMDB), ensuring accuracy and integrity of all configuration items (CIs).
- Develop and maintain a logical model of IT infrastructure components and their relationships within the CMDB system.
- Ensure all configuration items are properly registered, tracked, and updated in accordance with defined standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as change management, release management, and procurement to ensure seamless updates and compliance.
- Conduct regular and ad-hoc audits of configuration items to identify discrepancies and ensure data accuracy.
- Define and implement naming conventions, policies, and procedures for configuration management and asset tracking.
- Monitor and control changes to configuration items, ensuring all updates are authorized, audited, and properly documented.
- Generate reports and analyze CMDB data to support decision-making and improve IT service delivery.
- Maintain libraries and repositories for storing configuration data, documents, and software assets securely.
- Supervise the lifecycle of software and hardware assets, including procurement coordination and disposal policies.
- Assist in resolving discrepancies identified during audits and ensure compliance with organizational standards.
- Support the end-to-end Software Asset and Configuration Management (SACM) process to ensure efficient IT operations.
Requirements & Eligibility:
- Bachelorβs degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 1β3 years of experience in configuration management, IT asset management, or related IT infrastructure roles.
- Strong understanding of CMDB concepts, configuration management processes, and IT service management frameworks.
- Experience with SCM tools, build automation tools, and defect management systems.
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and its integration with configuration management practices.
- Hands-on experience in IT hardware and software setup, troubleshooting, and asset lifecycle management.
- Ability to create and maintain CMDB repositories and ensure data consistency and accuracy.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills to handle complex IT environments.
- Good communication and presentation skills to collaborate with stakeholders and present insights.
- Ability to work in multi-site and cross-functional environments, managing priorities effectively.
Expected Salary:
The expected salary for a SAM Analyst at Wipro in Bangalore typically ranges between βΉ4 LPA to βΉ9 LPA, depending on experience, expertise in CMDB management, and knowledge of IT asset management processes.
