Job Description

Siemens EDA is hiring a Member Technical Staff for its PowerPro core Research & Development team in Bangalore. This opportunity is well suited for fresh graduates and early-career engineers who want to build a strong career in Electronic Design Automation (EDA), C++ software development, digital design, algorithms, and semiconductor technology. As part of the PowerPro team, the selected engineer will contribute to software engines responsible for RTL and gate-level power estimation. The position involves developing high-performance software applications, designing new product capabilities, and creating efficient algorithms that can process complex simulation waveforms, switching activity information, and electronic design netlists. It provides an excellent opportunity to work on technically challenging problems at the intersection of software engineering and chip design.

As a Member Technical Staff, you will contribute across the software development lifecycle, from architecture and feature design to implementation, optimization, testing, and continuous improvement. The role requires strong foundations in C++, STL, data structures, and algorithms, along with an understanding of digital design concepts and hardware description languages such as Verilog or VHDL. Engineers will work on algorithms capable of processing large-scale simulation data while focusing on performance, scalability, and accuracy. The team is also exploring Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning techniques to enhance power estimation models and improve the efficiency of EDA workflows. Candidates may also gain exposure to scripting technologies such as Python, Tcl, Perl, Sed, or Awk.

This role offers freshers an opportunity to develop deep technical expertise while working alongside experienced engineers on sophisticated semiconductor design technology. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements, develop robust solutions, troubleshoot technical challenges, and contribute to software that helps semiconductor companies analyze and optimize power consumption. Siemens EDA provides an environment focused on technical learning, innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Engineers can strengthen their expertise in EDA software, semiconductor technology, simulation, power analysis, computational algorithms, AI/ML, and high-performance C++ development while contributing to products used in the increasingly complex world of chip, board, and system design.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize core C++ software applications that support RTL and gate-level power analysis, estimation, and semiconductor design workflows.
  • Contribute to the architecture, technical design, implementation, and enhancement of new features within the Siemens PowerPro power estimation product line.
  • Design efficient algorithms capable of processing large simulation waveforms, switching activity data, design netlists, and other complex datasets used for power estimation.
  • Analyze software performance and identify opportunities to improve execution speed, scalability, memory utilization, reliability, and overall application efficiency.
  • Explore and integrate AI and Machine Learning techniques that can improve the accuracy, scalability, and performance of power estimation models and related software engines.
  • Apply strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented programming, and C++ Standard Template Library (STL) to develop maintainable and high-performance engineering solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional R&D teams, hardware engineers, software developers, and product stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
  • Investigate software issues, analyze technical problems, debug application behavior, and implement fixes that improve the quality and reliability of PowerPro software.
  • Work with simulation data, hardware design information, and EDA-related workflows to develop tools and capabilities that help customers understand and optimize electronic power consumption.
  • Participate in software development, code reviews, technical discussions, testing, debugging, documentation, and continuous improvement activities across the product development lifecycle.
  • Expand knowledge of Electronic Design Automation, digital circuit design, logic simulation, power analysis, hardware description languages, and semiconductor engineering workflows.
  • Contribute to a collaborative R&D environment by sharing technical knowledge, learning from experienced engineers, and continuously improving development practices and product capabilities.

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Candidates should have a B.Tech or M.Tech degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline from a recognized institution.
  • Fresh graduates and entry-level candidates with 0+ years of professional experience are eligible, making this position particularly suitable for candidates looking to start their careers in EDA software development.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of C++ programming, including object-oriented programming concepts, memory management fundamentals, reusable software development, and modern coding practices.
  • Good understanding of the C++ Standard Template Library (STL) and its commonly used containers, algorithms, iterators, and utilities for developing efficient software solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of Data Structures and Algorithms, with the ability to analyze computational problems, select appropriate approaches, and develop efficient solutions.
  • Basic understanding of digital design concepts and familiarity with hardware description languages such as Verilog or VHDL will be important for understanding semiconductor design and power analysis workflows.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Tcl, Perl, Sed, or Awk will be an advantage, particularly for automation, data processing, testing, and EDA workflow development.
  • Familiarity with Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools, logic simulation, hardware waveform formats, RTL design, gate-level design, or semiconductor development workflows will be considered valuable.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required to handle technically complex challenges involving algorithms, simulation data, software performance, power estimation, and large-scale engineering applications.
  • Candidates should demonstrate strong communication and collaboration skills, curiosity, willingness to learn, and the ability to work effectively with experienced engineers and cross-functional teams in an R&D environment.

Expected Salary

For a Member Technical Staff position at Siemens EDA in Bangalore, a realistic estimated salary range for freshers and early-career candidates can be considered around ₹8 LPA to ₹15 LPA, depending on academic qualifications, C++ expertise, technical interview performance, EDA knowledge, and relevant project or internship experience. Candidates with strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, C++, digital design, and semiconductor technologies may have stronger opportunities toward the higher end of the range.

The actual compensation offered by Siemens EDA may vary according to the candidate's experience, job level, skills, and overall compensation structure. The position also offers valuable long-term career opportunities in EDA software engineering, semiconductor technology, high-performance computing, algorithms, and AI-driven electronic design automation.
