Job Description

Pulse Labs is hiring a Quality Analyst to join its Bangalore team, marking the companyโ€™s first dedicated quality role. As a pioneer in AI-driven UX research and human-computer interaction, Pulse Labs helps organizations build better products by analyzing real user interactions and feedback. This role is highly strategic and foundational, giving you the opportunity to define and build QA processes from scratch. You will act as the primary gatekeeper for product quality, ensuring that every feature released aligns with both functional requirements and user expectations.

The role focuses heavily on manual testing, particularly regression and end-to-end validation of product features. You will translate acceptance criteria into detailed test plans, ensuring coverage of edge cases, error scenarios, and boundary conditions. Working closely with product managers, designers, and engineers, you will identify gaps in requirements, validate system behavior, and ensure that releases meet high-quality standards before going live.

Beyond testing, this role emphasizes process ownership and quality strategy. You will establish QA frameworks, define release checklists, and implement defect tracking and reporting mechanisms. By identifying high-risk areas and advocating for automation investments, you will contribute to long-term quality improvements. This is an ideal opportunity for experienced QA professionals who want to move beyond execution and take ownership of quality culture in a fast-growing AI product company.

Roles & Responsibilities

  1. Design comprehensive test plans and test cases based on product acceptance criteria, covering edge cases and regression scenarios.

  2. Perform manual testing across features to validate functionality, integration, and overall system behavior.

  3. Act as the final quality gate before product releases, ensuring readiness and escalating critical issues when necessary.

  4. Identify gaps or ambiguities in requirements and communicate them effectively to product and engineering teams.

  5. Maintain and organize a centralized test case repository categorized by features and risk levels.

  6. Document and track defects with clear reproduction steps, severity levels, and expected outcomes.

  7. Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure adequate test coverage and alignment with unit and integration testing.

  8. Coordinate with product and design teams during UAT to validate user experience and feature intent.

  9. Build and define QA processes including release checklists, bug triage practices, and reporting standards.

  10. Analyze quality metrics and identify high-risk areas to recommend improvements and automation opportunities.

Requirements & Eligibility

  1. Bachelorโ€™s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  2. Minimum 3 years of experience in QA, Quality Analyst, or similar roles.

  3. Strong experience in writing test cases and test plans from product requirements.

  4. Expertise in manual testing methodologies, especially regression and functional testing.

  5. Ability to analyze requirements and identify testing gaps or ambiguities.

  6. Familiarity with technical tools such as browser developer tools, logs, and API testing.

  7. Strong communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional and global teams.

  8. Experience working with issue tracking tools such as Jira or similar platforms.

  9. Ability to work independently and take ownership of QA processes.

  10. Exposure to automation frameworks or AI/ML-based products is an added advantage.

Expected Salary

The average salary for a Quality Analyst with 3+ years of experience in India typically ranges between โ‚น10 LPA to โ‚น20 LPA, depending on experience in product-based companies, ownership of QA processes, and exposure to modern testing practices. Startups like Pulse Labs may also offer additional benefits such as flexible work culture, stock options, and rapid career growth opportunities.
