Job Description:

Capco, a Wipro company, is hiring a Junior Automation Test Engineer in Bengaluru to support large-scale banking and trading application platforms. This role is ideal for fresh graduates or early-career professionals looking to build a strong foundation in automation testing, software quality assurance, and financial technology systems. The Junior Automation Test Engineer will play a key role in ensuring application reliability, system accuracy, and seamless user experience across banking and trading platforms. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing automated and manual test cases using technologies such as Selenium, Java, Python, SQL, and Unix. Working in a shift-based environment at Capco Bangalore (Sarjapur), you will collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and QA teams to validate business requirements and maintain high-quality releases. This role emphasizes analytical thinking, defect tracking, automation framework enhancement, and continuous learning in software testing best practices.

Roles & Responsibilities:

1. Understand project requirements, business workflows, and test objectives to design effective automation and manual testing strategies aligned with client expectations.

2. Design, develop, and execute detailed test cases and automated test scripts using Selenium with Java or Python to ensure maximum application coverage.

3. Perform functional, regression, integration, and system testing on banking and trading applications to validate stability, performance, and accuracy.

4. Use SQL queries extensively for backend data validation, ensuring database integrity and consistency across financial transactions.

5. Work with Unix/Linux commands and scripting to validate system-level processes and monitor application environments.

6. Log, track, and manage defects using bug-tracking tools, ensuring timely resolution and maintaining quality standards before production releases.

7. Analyze test results, prepare detailed test execution reports, and communicate findings clearly to stakeholders and development teams.

8. Collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, and product managers to clarify requirements and improve overall test coverage.

9. Continuously enhance automation frameworks and suggest improvements to optimize execution time and reduce manual effort.

10. Stay updated with industry best practices in automation testing, SDLC, STLC, and QA methodologies to contribute effectively to project success.

Requirements & Eligibility:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline from a recognized institution.

2. Strong programming knowledge in Java and/or Python, with the ability to write reusable automation scripts and understand object-oriented concepts.

3. Solid understanding of SQL for writing complex queries, joins, and data validation scripts within relational databases.

4. Familiarity with Unix/Linux commands and basic shell scripting to manage test environments and validate backend processes.

5. Exposure to automation testing tools such as Selenium, JUnit, or TestNG, with knowledge of test framework design principles.

6. Clear understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC), including Agile methodologies.

7. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify root causes of defects and propose effective solutions.

8. Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams in a dynamic consulting environment.

9. Ability to work in rotational shifts and adapt to fast-paced banking and financial services projects.

10. A proactive learning mindset with eagerness to grow in automation testing, financial domain knowledge, and enterprise application quality assurance.

Expected Salary:

For a Junior Automation Test Engineer in Bengaluru, the expected salary typically ranges between ₹4 LPA to ₹6 LPA based on industry standards for entry-level automation roles in the banking and financial services domain. Capco is offering a fixed CTC of approximately ₹5 LPA, which aligns with market benchmarks for candidates possessing skills in Selenium, Java/Python, SQL, and Unix. Compensation may vary depending on technical expertise, academic background, and performance during the selection process.
