Job Description:
Autodesk is hiring a Software Development Engineer – Process Automation for its Bengaluru office to join the Engineering & DevOps Services (EDS) team within AI, Data & Automation (AIDA). This entry-level role focuses on building and scaling workflow-driven automation solutions that enable reliable and repeatable enterprise business processes. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain automation workflows using platforms such as n8n and Microsoft Power Automate. You will build Python-based AWS Lambda functions to support logic, transformations, and integrations while deploying automation services using AWS-native patterns. Strong hands-on exposure to RESTful APIs, webhooks, JSON, and YAML configurations will be critical. You will monitor automation runs, analyze failures, and support incident troubleshooting, ensuring scalable, secure, and observable automation solutions aligned with enterprise standards.

Beyond technical execution, this role requires collaboration with senior engineers and cross-functional stakeholders to embed automation within end-to-end business processes. You will contribute to governance, security compliance, and responsible automation practices while continuously evaluating new tools and patterns. Roles & Responsibilities:

1. Design, develop, and maintain workflow-based automation solutions using n8n and Microsoft Power Automate.

2. Build and deploy Python-based AWS Lambda functions to support automation logic and system integrations.

3. Integrate enterprise systems using RESTful APIs, webhooks, and event-driven architectures.

4. Manage workflow configurations, parameters, and mappings using JSON and YAML files.

5. Deploy and support automation solutions using AWS-native deployment patterns and CI/CD pipelines.

6. Monitor automation executions, analyze failures, and participate in troubleshooting and incident resolution.

7. Write clean, testable, and maintainable Python code following established engineering standards.

8. Collaborate with senior engineers to translate business requirements into scalable automation workflows.

9. Ensure adherence to governance, security, and responsible-use guidelines in automation implementations.

10. Continuously research and evaluate new automation tools and best practices to enhance system reliability.

Requirements & Eligibility:

1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

2. 0–2 years of experience in software development, scripting, or automation engineering.

3. Foundational to intermediate proficiency in Python programming (mandatory).

4. Hands-on exposure to workflow automation platforms such as n8n, Microsoft Power Automate, or similar tools.

5. Practical experience working with JSON and YAML configuration files.

6. Understanding of REST APIs, webhooks, and system integration concepts.

7. Familiarity with AWS services, particularly AWS Lambda, is an advantage.

8. Exposure to backend automation orchestration or integration platforms is a plus.

9. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in designing reliable workflows.

10. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical teams.

Expected Salary:

For an entry-level Software Development Engineer – Process Automation role in Bengaluru (0–2 years of experience), the expected salary typically ranges between ₹7 LPA to ₹12 LPA depending on proficiency in Python, AWS Lambda, and workflow automation platforms.
