Job Description
NVIDIA is hiring passionate and highly analytical graduates for the role of Formal Verification Engineer in its Hardware Engineering team. This opportunity is designed for fresh engineering graduates who are interested in digital design verification, semiconductor technologies, hardware validation, and advanced formal verification methodologies. NVIDIA is a global leader in parallel computing, graphics processing, artificial intelligence, and accelerated computing systems, powering technologies ranging from gaming and visual computing to autonomous vehicles, robotics, and deep learning platforms. This role offers candidates the opportunity to contribute directly to cutting-edge hardware innovation that shapes the future of computing and AI.
As a Formal Verification Engineer, candidates will work on verifying complex digital designs, IP blocks, and System-on-Chip (SoC) architectures using advanced formal verification techniques. The role involves understanding RTL design, applying formal methods to ensure correctness, and developing robust verification strategies using hardware description languages like Verilog and SystemVerilog. Engineers will collaborate closely with design teams and verification experts to ensure functional correctness, identify design flaws early in development, and contribute to high-quality silicon products. This position is ideal for candidates who enjoy problem-solving, logic-based reasoning, and working with low-level hardware systems.
Working at NVIDIA provides a unique opportunity to be part of a world-class engineering organization that is shaping the future of AI computing and accelerated hardware systems. The company encourages innovation, deep technical expertise, and continuous learning in advanced domains such as hardware verification, chip design, and formal methods. Engineers in this role will gain hands-on experience with state-of-the-art verification methodologies, temporal logic assertions, and abstraction techniques used in modern semiconductor design. For candidates aiming to build careers in hardware engineering, VLSI design, chip verification, or advanced computing systems, this role offers exceptional exposure and long-term career growth in one of the most advanced technology companies in the world.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Learn and apply advanced formal verification methodologies to validate complex digital hardware designs and semiconductor components.
- Perform verification of IP blocks, RTL designs, and SoC-level architectures using industry-standard formal techniques.
- Develop detailed verification plans to ensure complete functional coverage and correctness of hardware designs.
- Collaborate closely with hardware design engineers to understand RTL implementations and identify potential design issues early in the development cycle.
- Execute formal verification tasks using tools and methodologies based on abstraction techniques and mathematical logic models.
- Work with SystemVerilog and Verilog HDL to analyze, understand, and verify hardware design structures.
- Use temporal logic assertions to validate system behavior and ensure design correctness under various conditions.
- Participate in debugging and root cause analysis of hardware design issues discovered during verification cycles.
- Coordinate with cross-functional verification teams to ensure closure of design verification goals within project timelines.
- Continuously improve verification strategies and contribute to best practices in hardware validation and formal methods.
- Document verification processes, test plans, and results to ensure traceability and engineering consistency.
- Stay updated with emerging verification tools, semiconductor technologies, and advanced chip design methodologies.
Requirements & Eligibility
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or related technical fields.
- Strong analytical and logical reasoning skills to solve complex hardware verification and design problems.
- Understanding of digital design concepts, RTL (Register Transfer Level) design, and hardware architecture fundamentals.
- Hands-on exposure to Verilog or SystemVerilog hardware description languages is required.
- Ability to quickly understand and analyze RTL code and hardware system behavior.
- Knowledge of formal verification concepts, abstraction techniques, and mathematical modeling of hardware systems.
- Understanding of temporal logic assertions and their application in hardware verification processes.
- Strong problem-solving mindset with attention to detail and precision in technical analysis.
- Good communication and teamwork skills for collaboration with global engineering teams.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, research-driven, and highly technical engineering environment.
- Exposure to VLSI design, chip verification, or semiconductor engineering projects will be an added advantage.
