As a Data Engineering Intern, you will work closely with experienced engineers to translate business requirements into technical data solutions. You will gain hands-on exposure to the full software development lifecycle, including data ingestion, transformation, and deployment of data pipelines. The role also involves supporting system integration testing (SIT) and user acceptance testing (UAT), ensuring that data-driven applications meet quality standards. You will explore technologies related to big data, cloud computing, and enterprise platforms while contributing to real-world projects.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Assist in translating business requirements and functional specifications into scalable data engineering solutions, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Support the development, configuration, and enhancement of data pipelines and enterprise data platforms using modern tools and methodologies.
  • Contribute to building and maintaining data lake architectures by working on data ingestion processes from multiple sources, including databases and file systems.
  • Assist in implementing and maintaining ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to ensure efficient data transformation and availability.
  • Support system integration testing (SIT) and user acceptance testing (UAT) to validate data solutions and ensure successful deployment.
  • Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, applying company standards, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Assist in building and maintaining business intelligence (BI) solutions, including creating reports, metrics, and dashboards.
  • Monitor data systems and analytics platforms to ensure smooth operations, resolving basic technical issues and escalating complex problems when required.
  • Support platform engineering activities such as Hadoop cluster administration, system upgrades, and troubleshooting.
  • Continuously research and learn new technologies, tools, and trends in data engineering, cloud computing, and analytics.

Requirements & Eligibility:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Strong academic background in data structures and programming is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of software development concepts and programming languages. Familiarity with data engineering principles is a plus.
  • Knowledge of databases, including RDBMS and NoSQL systems, with basic SQL query-writing skills.
  • Exposure to big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or cloud-based data platforms is advantageous.
  • Understanding of ETL processes, data pipelines, and data warehousing concepts.
  • Familiarity with web services, APIs, and integration middleware is an added advantage.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to learn and adapt quickly.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Interest in learning modern technologies such as microservices, cloud computing, and data engineering tools.
  • Self-motivated attitude with a willingness to continuously learn and improve technical skills.
