Job Description

Capco, a Wipro company and a global technology and management consulting firm, is seeking a talented Gen AI Engineer to join its growing technology team in Pune or Bengaluru. This role focuses on designing and building advanced artificial intelligence solutions that leverage Generative AI technologies, machine learning, and cloud infrastructure. The position requires hands-on expertise in Python development, machine learning frameworks, and Generative AI technologies such as GPT-based large language models, NLP, and transformer architectures. Engineers will design workflow orchestration systems, build APIs, and implement scalable backend services using frameworks like Flask or FastAPI. Working in an Agile development environment, the Gen AI Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams including data scientists, DevOps engineers, and cloud architects to deliver reliable AI-powered solutions. The Gen AI Engineer will actively participate in code reviews, implement CI/CD pipelines, and contribute to technical documentation including architecture designs and API specifications. Roles & Responsibilities

1. Design and develop scalable backend systems that support AI-driven applications and Generative AI workflows. This includes creating efficient APIs, workflow orchestration processes, and automation pipelines using Python-based technologies.

2. Build and implement Generative AI solutions using large language models such as GPT, transformer architectures, and natural language processing frameworks. These solutions will support enterprise use cases such as intelligent automation, data analysis, and conversational systems.

3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, data scientists, and cloud engineers to gather technical requirements and translate them into high-quality code and scalable system architectures.

4. Develop and manage workflow orchestration pipelines using Python and infrastructure tools such as Terraform to automate processes within AI programs and streamline operational workflows.

5. Utilize DevOps best practices to maintain continuous integration and deployment pipelines. This includes working with tools such as Git, CI/CD platforms, and Agile project management systems to ensure efficient code deployment.

6. Deploy and manage AI-driven applications on Microsoft Azure cloud platforms using services such as Azure DevOps, Azure App Service, and Azure Functions to ensure reliable and scalable infrastructure.

7. Monitor system performance and troubleshoot complex technical issues across AI platforms and backend services. Work with team members to identify root causes and implement long-term solutions.

8. Conduct peer code reviews and contribute constructive feedback to maintain high coding standards and improve the overall quality of software development across the team.

9. Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation including architecture diagrams, API documentation, operational guidelines, and system workflows for knowledge sharing and maintenance.

10. Ensure that all systems and applications comply with regulatory requirements and data protection standards, supporting the organization’s broader governance and security initiatives.

Requirements & Eligibility

1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related technical field. Candidates with specialized AI or machine learning coursework are highly preferred.

2. Strong proficiency in Python programming with experience building backend services and automation workflows. Knowledge of frameworks such as Flask or FastAPI is essential for developing scalable APIs.

3. Hands-on experience with machine learning and deep learning concepts including model training, data preprocessing, and performance optimization.

4. Familiarity with Generative AI technologies including OpenAI GPT models, natural language processing (NLP), and transformer-based architectures used in modern AI applications.

5. Experience working with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure and related services including Azure DevOps, Azure Functions, and Azure App Service for deploying AI-driven solutions.

6. Knowledge of version control systems such as Git and experience working with CI/CD pipelines for automated build, testing, and deployment processes.

7. Understanding of relational databases such as SQL Server and experience designing data storage systems for scalable backend applications.

8. Familiarity with JavaScript and frontend integration concepts is considered an added advantage when building full-stack AI applications.

9. Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD), unit testing frameworks, and software quality practices to ensure reliable and maintainable code.

10. Strong communication skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to work effectively in Agile development environments while collaborating with diverse technical teams.
