Job Description

Reliance Jio is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Information Security professional to join its Information Security team in Mumbai. This role is designed for early-career cybersecurity professionals who are eager to build their expertise in protecting digital systems, networks, and enterprise infrastructure from evolving security threats. As organizations increasingly rely on technology and cloud-based platforms, maintaining a robust security posture has become critical. The Associate Information Security role focuses on assisting senior security professionals in monitoring security systems, analyzing threat patterns, and implementing essential security measures that safeguard sensitive company data and systems.

In this position, the selected candidate will actively participate in monitoring security alerts, identifying suspicious activities, and supporting incident response efforts. The role involves analyzing security events across multiple platforms to detect vulnerabilities or potential cyber threats. By collaborating with cross-functional teams and using industry-standard cybersecurity tools, the associate will help ensure that security policies and frameworks are properly implemented and maintained. Roles & Responsibilities

  1. Assist in monitoring enterprise security systems and tools to detect suspicious activities or potential cyber threats. This includes reviewing security alerts, logs, and system events to ensure timely identification of vulnerabilities or unauthorized access attempts.

  2. Analyze security events generated from various monitoring platforms such as SIEM tools, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems. The goal is to identify abnormal patterns that could indicate potential cybersecurity incidents.

  3. Support the incident response team in investigating and responding to security incidents. This includes assisting in root cause analysis and documenting findings to improve the organization’s future security posture.

  4. Participate in vulnerability assessment activities to identify weaknesses in applications, networks, and systems. Assist security teams in recommending remediation measures to strengthen the organization’s cybersecurity defenses.

  5. Help implement and maintain security controls such as access management, system hardening, and monitoring configurations. These measures ensure that systems comply with established security standards.

  6. Conduct regular security audits and assessments to ensure compliance with internal policies and external cybersecurity frameworks. Document observations and support remediation planning.

  7. Assist in developing, reviewing, and enforcing information security policies, procedures, and guidelines to maintain a secure operational environment across the organization.

  8. Collaborate with IT teams and other departments to address security concerns and ensure security best practices are followed during system deployment or upgrades.

  9. Maintain proper documentation of security incidents, vulnerabilities, and investigation reports for future analysis and compliance requirements.

  10. Stay informed about emerging cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices to proactively improve the organization’s security posture.


Requirements & Eligibility

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics & Communication Engineering, or a related technical discipline. Candidates with strong academic backgrounds in cybersecurity or network security are preferred.

  2. Basic understanding of information security concepts such as network security, threat detection, vulnerability management, and data protection principles.

  3. Familiarity with cybersecurity tools such as SIEM platforms, vulnerability scanners, firewalls, or intrusion detection systems will be considered an added advantage.

  4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate security incidents and identify potential risks within systems and networks.

  5. Good communication and documentation skills to effectively report security findings, incidents, and vulnerabilities to internal teams and stakeholders.

  6. Understanding of operating systems, networking fundamentals, and system administration concepts that are essential for identifying and addressing security vulnerabilities.

  7. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and follow established security procedures within a dynamic IT environment.

  8. Willingness to learn and adapt to evolving cybersecurity technologies, threats, and industry frameworks such as ISO 27001 or NIST security guidelines.

  9. Knowledge of scripting, basic automation, or programming languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell can be beneficial for security operations tasks.

  10. Strong attention to detail and a proactive mindset to identify potential threats before they escalate into major security incidents.
