Job Description

Equifax is looking for a passionate and motivated Software Engineer (Entry Level) to join its technology team in Pune. You will participate in designing technical solutions, writing efficient code, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of applications with existing corporate platforms. The position provides exposure to enterprise software development and modern development practices used by global technology organizations.

The Software Engineer will also work in an agile development environment, contributing to sprint planning, code reviews, and release processes. You will leverage cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud to build scalable applications and improve system performance. By working with modern development frameworks, databases, and automation tools, you will gain valuable hands-on experience while helping Equifax build reliable and innovative technology solutions that support financial institutions, businesses, and consumers worldwide.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Design and develop software components and modules that support large-scale enterprise applications while ensuring scalability, reliability, and high performance.

• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code using modern programming languages and development frameworks while following industry best practices.

• Participate in designing technical solutions and creating documentation that explains system architecture, design decisions, and development processes.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate software systems with existing corporate platforms and ensure smooth communication between applications.

• Apply modern software development practices including microservices architecture, serverless computing, and infrastructure-as-code to build scalable cloud-based systems.

• Contribute to agile development activities such as sprint planning, code reviews, and technical discussions to improve development workflows.

• Conduct software testing and debugging using automated testing frameworks and tools to ensure code quality and application reliability.

• Work with source code management systems such as Git and build tools like Maven or Gradle to manage code repositories and automate development processes.

• Support continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines that enable faster and more reliable software releases.

• Continuously learn new technologies and development tools to improve coding efficiency and contribute to innovative engineering solutions.

Requirements & Eligibility

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field. Equivalent practical experience may also be considered.

• At least 6 months of experience in Java software development with a strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles.

• Familiarity with cloud computing platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.

• Experience in frontend development technologies including HTML, JavaScript, Angular, and Bootstrap for building user interfaces.

• Knowledge of backend technologies such as Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), and microservices-based application development.

• Experience working with version control systems such as Git, GitHub, or SVN for collaborative software development.

• Familiarity with build and automation tools like Maven or Gradle used in enterprise software development environments.

• Understanding of relational databases such as MySQL or SQL Server including database design and query optimization.

• Experience working in agile development environments such as Scrum or Extreme Programming (XP) methodologies.

• Basic knowledge of automated testing frameworks such as JUnit, Selenium, LoadRunner, or SoapUI for software testing and quality assurance.

• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly learn new technologies and development tools.

The typical salary for an entry-level Software Engineer in India working with global technology companies ranges between ₹6 LPA to ₹12 LPA, depending on technical skills, academic background, and hands-on experience with programming languages and cloud technologies.
