Job Description

Flex is looking for a motivated Junior Financial Analyst to join its Cost Accounting Solutions (CAS) team in Chennai. This role provides an excellent opportunity for fresh graduates and early-career finance professionals to develop strong expertise in financial analysis, cost accounting, and corporate finance operations. As a Junior Financial Analyst, you will support the finance team in managing cost accounting processes, maintaining financial records, and ensuring compliance with corporate financial policies. The role plays an important part in supporting business operations by providing accurate financial data and insights that help drive effective decision-making.

In this position, you will be responsible for performing cost accounting activities, supporting month-end financial closing processes, and maintaining financial documentation. The role requires working closely with operations teams to analyze cost metrics, track financial performance, and identify opportunities for process improvement. By leveraging accounting principles and financial analysis techniques, the analyst will help ensure that financial processes remain efficient, transparent, and aligned with organizational goals.

The Junior Financial Analyst will also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and reducing costs. This includes implementing process improvements, documenting financial procedures, and assisting with financial reporting activities. Roles & Responsibilities

  • Perform various cost accounting activities including monitoring expenses, analyzing financial data, and ensuring that accounting records align with corporate financial policies and guidelines.

  • Support the finance team in maintaining accurate cost accounting metrics and ensuring compliance with internal financial procedures and accounting standards.

  • Work closely with operational teams to identify and track the root causes of financial metric deviations and support corrective actions to improve financial performance.

  • Post month-end journal entries related to accruals, adjustments, and reclassifications within enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.

  • Assist in implementing cost-saving initiatives and continuous improvement strategies through process optimization and operational efficiency programs.

  • Maintain and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to financial processes and ensure proper documentation in document management systems.

  • Prepare financial reports and assist with data analysis that helps management evaluate business performance and cost structures.

  • Learn and support cost accounting functions while serving as a backup for senior cost accountants when required.

  • Ensure accurate financial documentation and maintain organized records that support audits and compliance requirements.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve financial workflows and enhance the overall efficiency of finance operations.


Requirements & Eligibility

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration such as B.Com, BBA (Finance), M.Com, or MBA (Finance).

  • Fresh graduates or candidates with up to 2 years of relevant experience in finance, accounting, or financial analysis roles are eligible to apply.

  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles, cost accounting processes, and financial reporting standards used in corporate finance environments.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint for financial reporting and data analysis.

  • Ability to understand and interpret accounting policies and financial procedures within enterprise organizations.

  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills to evaluate financial data and identify cost improvement opportunities.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English to effectively collaborate with finance teams and operational stakeholders.

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate financial records and documentation.

  • Willingness to learn new financial systems, accounting tools, and business processes as part of professional development.

  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team in a fast-paced corporate finance environment.
