Job Description

Cognizant’s GenC program is designed to launch the careers of early-stage engineering graduates by placing them at the core of real-world enterprise technology projects. As a GenC professional, you will work in a dynamic IT services environment where technology, business understanding, and continuous learning come together to deliver impactful digital solutions for global clients. This role provides structured exposure to software development, testing, deployment, and Agile delivery models across multiple domains.

In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional project teams to understand business requirements, translate them into technical solutions, and contribute to building reliable, scalable, and cost-effective applications. You will be involved in the full software development lifecycle—from requirement analysis and low-level design to coding, testing, debugging, and deployment—while adhering to established SDLC and Agile practices. The position emphasizes ownership, accountability, and proactive problem-solving to ensure timely delivery and quality outcomes.

The GenC program also focuses strongly on continuous upskilling and reskilling. You will be encouraged to learn new technologies, tools, and platforms to stay relevant in a rapidly evolving technology landscape. With strong mentorship, collaborative team culture, and exposure to diverse client projects, this role lays a solid foundation for a long-term career in information technology and digital transformation.

Key Responsibilities

• Understand business requirements and raise clarifications when needed.

• Develop, test, debug, and deploy code as per requirement specifications.

• Create low-level design documents for assigned components.

• Understand data requirements and design appropriate test scenarios.

• Work within Agile development environments and follow SDLC processes.

• Identify, prioritize, and manage tasks to meet project deadlines.

• Take ownership of assigned deliverables and ensure timely, high-quality output.

• Participate in project meetings, technical discussions, and team collaborations.

• Proactively identify risks, issues, and potential points of failure and mitigate them.

• Continuously upskill, reskill, and cross-skill to align with new technologies.

Eligibility Criteria

• 2024 or 2025 graduates from eligible B.E/B.Tech/M.E/M.Tech streams
  (Streams such as Leather Technology, Food Technology, Fashion Technology are excluded).

• Minimum 60% in X, XII, Diploma, UG, and PG (no rounding off allowed).

• Minimum 60% aggregate in the pursuing degree at the time of joining.

• No standing arrears at any stage of the hiring or joining process.

• CGPA-to-percentage conversion as per university norms.

• Flexibility to work from any Cognizant office location, shift timing, and technology.

• Open to Indian nationals and OCIs currently residing in India.

Required Skills

• Basic understanding of programming and software development concepts.

• Knowledge of SDLC and Agile application development environments.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Ability to document requirements and technical designs clearly.

• Good communication skills (written and verbal).

• Strong collaboration and teamwork mindset.

• Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to changing environments.

Compensation

• 💰 CTC: ₹4,00,000 per annum (4 LPA)
